Question
Sig Four Star 20ep Eflite Motor?

Kit in the mail, just wonder if anyone has put an Eflite Power series motor in one of these planes. I was thinking of a Power 25? Power 15? Will use plane for what it was made for, sport flying some aerobatics, pattern etc.

Power 10 or 15 IMO because of the higher kv (smaller prop and higher RPMs). I suggest 300-400 watts if you want to fly like that. I have a Sig 4-Star 20EP kit ready to be built and this is the motor I got:

Its basically inbetween a Power 10 and 15 and should provide 400 watts with 50ish oz of thrust with a 10X7 or 11X7, I don't know how much prop clearence there is.

4* 20ep

Let me know how it flys. According to Sig mine is en route. I have a Monster Power 25 (exceed from Hobbypartz) that I was going to try on it, but I may rethink that and get an Eflite Power .15. Let me know how it goes.
I have to build a Chea-Pass Laser Stick I got 2 days ago 1st!!!

I'm going to star the build this weekand. When I ordered that motor from HeadsUpRC I also got a Power-Up 15 motor which is basically the same as the 3542. I decided to put the 3542 on a different plane so I'm gointg with a Power-Up 15 on the 4-star. Also check out the big Sig Four-Star 20EP thread right here in the electric forum

Going by looks, I'm guessing the PowerUp 15 is a re-branded Suppo. I'm using one on a 3DHS Aspera, about 43 oz. all-up. Same general size and weight range as the 4*20.

In this configuration the Aspera won't win any speed records, but it's certainly not underpowered. Using 3S/3000 battery and 11x7 prop.

I am thinking of building one of these over the winter as I have several power systems that need a home.

Is anyone currently building one?
Is there a better alternative?

I flew my SIG 4-Star 20EP with a Turnegy 35-42 1100kv motor very satisfactorily last year swinging an APC 9*6. That's pretty close to the E-Flight Power 10 motor. I flew with an E-Flight 40A Pro Light ESC and used 3S-2200mAh batteries for around 7.5 minutes of 'sport' flying. If I recall, I got 330 watts with a fresh battery.
It's a great plane, you'll enjoy it.
