JR 11X and 11X Zero
What is the difference between a JR 11X and 11X Zero? I'm guessing the Zero is the Asian version, but I wanted to make sure. Thanks.

The 11X is the US version from Horizon, and is 2.4G only. The 11X Zero is the product released by JR to the rest of the world (that apparently was too good for Horizon . . . ) since it had all the same features as the 11X, but is also modular so that you can use any band you like, and not be locked to 2.4.

The situation is more complex than Tim states. If you look at the official JR web site, you will see that both a modular (11X Zero)and an integrated (DSX11) 11-channel transmitter 2.4GHz radios are being produced. The 11X Zero is also sold in a domestic and an export version. JR is emphatic that you use the correct firm updates.
For the North American market, the 11X 2.4 while physically looking like the DSX11, has different firmware than the other JR 11-channel transmitters. It also appears the 11X 2.4 programming is different. If you take a look at the "JR 11X System with Spektrum 2.4GHz DSM Technology Review" posts #36, 38-42, and 45, you will see what I'm referring to.
