Got the 1st set of 4 ESC's wired up and tested it and it flew. Now just soldering the 2nd set of 4 ESC's and cross my fingers

OK after wiring it multiple times and switching the props multiple times and flipping it over and bending a motor shaft I finally got it wired right. I lifted it up and hovered with only 7 motors. Now gonna replace the bad motor and see what happens.

Got it all setup and flying but it is not powerfull enough. Gonna try it outside Tue and see if it flies better. The batts get warm fast also so it might be too big of a draw on the batts. I used a Hyperion 900mAh 45c 3S batt so I am using the highest C rating batt I can buy.

try 2 bladed props
do you have a watt meter?

i forgot you have 8 motors
900 mah 45c = .9X45 = 40.5amps
if every motor is pulling 5 amps 8x5 = 40 amps
very close to the battery's limits
you need a bigger battery

Thanks I have the 7" 2 blade props coming Wed or Thur. I will try those. I do not have a watt meter.

For my 4 motor setup with the same ESC's/motors I was using a Outrage 450mAh 35C 3s and thats what gave me the best performance and 6 mins flight time which is all I need. I figured double the motors and over double the batt and I would be fine.

What about two of those batteries "taped" together? ;P one for each set of 4 motors

that 7" prop will probably run much hotter

when experimenting with props and motors you need a watt meter
try the same props with a 2s lipo
2000KV is a bit high so 7.2v should calm things down

I was contimplating that same idea. This way there is less draw on the batts.

I thought a 7" 2 blade prop would run cooler than a 5" 3 bade prop. That would be 7" prop area with a 2 blade verse 7.5" prop area w/3 blade.

Perhaps this is a dumb question, but why are the bottom props on backwards?
Are they off when upright and only turn on when inverted?
If so, how do you transition from upright to inverted?

Thats the only way to set it up. I tried every setup and thats the only combo that works. They are not on backwards by accident.
