Ralph, Capt Soap,

I'm using a CC Ice 100 but I wouldn't be surprised if the Stock Freewing 80A esc would do the job.

Max current draw on 6s is 83A whereas the Freewing tops out about 60A.

I had to cut the inlet ring off the Freewing Shroud (the CS fan doesn't come with one) and carefully glue it to the front end of the CS Shroud.

Some minor foam modification as the fan shroud is longer, same diameter though. I also cut some of the CS shroud off in the sides on the rear as it was protruding past the foam walls. Then I drilled the plywood mounts for a single 4-40 T-Nut (one on each side) and jammed it sideways into the foam and up into the wood. Probably an hour and a half of work, not too bad.

Input Please

Just got a FW/HL 90mm F-18 kit and plan to put this in it:

RC Lander 90mm 1900kv metal dps edf fan/motor unit.

HobbyWing Pentium 100A w/SBEC

Still looking at servo options but would like to have input on the power system. This will be a 6S setup. Any input is welcome.

BTW - is it OK to extend the leads from ESC -> motor?

This kit is the V3 according to the web site w/ upgraded retracts.

I used Hs-65mg on the ailerons & tailerons fit perfect with no cutting. Lost an airframe due to deans melting crashed & servos survived except the nylon tv. Also added mg servo to steering believe it was a tower pro mg.

As for power system I run stock & upped the esc to a HW100a with cc bec. Good luck on your quest.

The hs-65mg are a lil pricey, but I've also used the TP-90MG in other planes on the ailerons & elevator and have never had a prob. Think they run $7-8 a servo.

Someone also sells a digital version of this version I think but can't remember who. Ne how they are great for the price.

Always use this place for most of my electronics, since they r located in Cali & so am I. If I order early enough orders arrive in 1 day & never had 1 problem.

Questions about air frame only

Hi,
A tree ate my v2 plane today and I am ordering a new one AF only to replace it. Does the airframe only version come with all lights pre-installed? Also with the V3 how is the gear door servo controlled? Is there a board? Thanks

I own the 9s version of that fan and I never installed it into this airframe because it was way too heavy. Maybe the 6s combo would be more suitable but this airframe lands the best when it is light.

Yep the lights are installed and wired and ther is a built in sequencer installed for the nosegear door. It also includes the servo leads ready to go. It's a very nice "airframe only" kit. More like an ARF.
