I've seen servos go crazy on a HK vampire jet (not mine) - with lipo replacement and Rx replacement multiple times. The final verdict was bad ESC.

It is a V3 and I'm pretty happy with the changes they made although disappointed there is not a landing light on the nose strut. I have one laying around that might get installed later.

She is finished minus the steering adjustments and flying stab control rods. I used 30 minute epoxy and it came out perfect. Still going to go with the changesun combo just gotta wait to order it after I get paid again lol. Total build time was less than three hours and completely painless. I swapped out the TV servos with hitec HS-56's which should be fine and fixed my servo frenzy lol. I'm taking it to work tomorrow and I'm hoping it doesn't get hangar rash before it flies. Will have accurate flying weight tomorrow and test cg. Was thinking about using .020 safety wire on the control horns but I think it might be overkill. Gonna tear up the sky on sunday!!!

Lee,

I appreciate that and may take you up on that until my combo is here. I have run up the stock power system and it sounds unbalanced and kinda crappy for whatever reason. I'm not sure if its because I gave gotten used to balanced fans since my last ARF but I ran it up at the hangar today and the sound embarrassed me lol. I want to throw my extreme alloy 8sfan in there but I don't think it will run on 6s and I don't want to overload this jet with batteries. I'm gonna save that power system for an A4.

I flew down to horseshoe bay today in the baron again and greased my landing. I get to fly the empty leg and build time both ways. Entered DFW class B airspace right at 200kts and 3500 ft. Got to see my club flying field from the air today and had an awesome two days. I woked on the airplane i flew all day then towed it to the ramp, got in and left!!! So freakin cool

My view on the way home today

I am thankful to operate in the corporate world and I think that's where I'll stay.

Tomorrow is the maiden so I will be checking everything today. I'm nervous even though I have plenty of stick time with this bird. I really hate the fan noise that it produces but I will have to live with it for now.

The F-18 is balanced and control throws are perfect. I had to add 1.25 oz of weight to the tail and I'm about 2 3/4" on the CG. Looks good with my other planes!
