I fly with my eyes closed (that how good I am), so judging by sound, wind direction, time of day, & what I ate before I usually fly... no more than a 300yrds away.

Lol! Jk, but I try to keep her close 500yrds.max.

That's how I started when I first got into EDFs. I used to fly them "pedal to the metal" and the thing would cover a lot of distance faster than I was prepared for. My Mig29 got too far one day and before I knew it, it was upside down and I couldn't tell which way it was going. Luckily, I saved it and brought it home. From that point, I've learned not to go high throttle all the time. I find the jets now way more controllable and fun to watch for me and those around me as we can all actually see them. I confine myself to full throttle only when doing high speed passes in close or going vertical. They are much more fun for me if I keep them close.

Agreed...I save the WOT for low, close passes or vertical work...Otherwise I'm at cruise speed.

Try letting the SR-71 Blackbird get away from you. I know a little something about that.

My first 10 years in the hobby was glider flying. I was use to distance, and big wings. I do fly closer, when I get further out with edf's it's my #1 crash problem. I only broke the nose, and sidewinder off.

I have flown them around 6 yrs and I love it, it's easy to keep something up with power.
But to keep one up without, is rewarding:=}}

Aros :
I'm sorry for your lost :={{
Capt Soap :
At least it was repair-able and not a total lost, right.

Thanks Joe...I went through 10 of them. I had my fun but the Habu is by far the most difficult, finicky jet you could ever want to fly.

I'm glad I did not buy one , I was very close to buying the Huba 2 the Fiberglass Fuse and Balsa Wing one , is it the one you had or was it the foam one.

Looking for a front retract

Hey guys,

I've just picked up one of thse 2nd hand and the front retract needs replacing. Any of you guys in Aus got one you're willing to sell? I'm working my way through the thread and I suspect that RC Castle will have them, but if I can get one locally that would be cool.

Thanks

Darren

Contact these guys. This is the same jet. They might keep parts.

Sorry, I meant the Blackbird (was known as the Habu), not the Eflite EDF with the same name.
