ParkZone Vapor for FPV

Well... this has been done before... but I got a request to show pics of my FPV Vapor, so here it is.

The camera is like this one.... available many places...

http://www.dealextreme.com/details.d...006~r.50744017

I found mine on ebay, but mine did not come with the RX.

The combined recorder/receiver thing I have, came from ebay long ago.
It is still available lots of places. (China)
Record quality is poor 320X240, but that doesn't matter as the camera res is about the same.
It has AV out jack that goes to my Trimersion goggles.

I added the bulkhead jack and antenna you see on the Rec/Rx.
It originally had an internal antenna.
I also have a 7dbi mag mount WIFI antenna reverse polarity SMA connector, that I modified with a standard SMA connector. so I can use it with the recorder.

First vid is with the little ducky antenna on the recorder/receiver.

2nd vid I used the 7dbi WIFI antenna.

2.4 video Tx and 2.4 Spektrum RC control seem to work ok together.
You MUST turn on vid Tx first.
Then switch on RC radio (I'm using a DX6i).

"Watch out for that house!" HA HA HA!!! Awesome! That video had me grinning ear to ear. I'm really wanting to get a micro setup like that on a Parkzone P51 Mustang. That would be awesome!

How did you manage to get the camera hooked up to that e-flight battery?

Thanks guys!

@Cheap Flyer, I used a spare micro connector that I had laying around from a different project.

You can get those micro connectors new from a few places.

Hobby King has some....

That's the voltage regulator.

It is inside the black "lump" on the power cable/jack for the camera.

Thanks for the info, on my 2.4ghz I went without that using a single lipo directly and I believe thats what killed it in the long run. LOL

Looks like fun!

Thanks Tim!

Ya, interference.... depending....

I have powered up the vid Tx and then turn on the DX6i.... sometimes there is very bad interference....so....

Leave vid Tx on.......power off the DX6i and hold it close to the vid Tx.... turn on DX6i.... no more interference.

The DX6i "finds" a "channel" father away from the vid frequency.

That's so cool, it's amazing how slow and stable that thing is. Being able to step outside and fly around your own yard, is rather appealing to me .

Thanks for sharing your videos.

Cheers, Kev.
