Although I have done a fair amount of work with batteries and power systems I am new to the LiPo world. I was trying to understand the ratings and decided to make a spreadsheet. Does the attached file seem to make sense? The first 5 values should be changed for different batteries, flight times, and reserves.

Did I get the interpetation of what 30C discharge rate is? 60/30 = 2 minutes?
The other thing I was going to do is factor in the dropping voltage but it appears 3.3 is a good enough average. Doesn't seem to be a huge voltage swing.

 Oct 12, 2010, 01:14 PM Space Coast USA Space Coast Joined Oct 2000 23,160 Posts Yup- If the motor draws an average of 10A, and you have a 2500mah pack, how long will it fly? Amp draw/Ah of battery = C-rate 10A/2.5Ah= 4 (C-rate) 60min/C-rate = flight time. 60min/4=15min
