Non RC Lipo

My wife has a "WORX GT"Lithium and the battery does not
charge they are sending a new one but I would like to see if
I can fix the old one. I've been inside the pack everything
seems ok, same voltage on all cells, no burned spots on the
board. The battery is labeled 18V Lithium Power and the
contacts are labeled left to right + BS Vcc T -. It charges
about 10 seconds and then the charged light comes on, it
will only run for about 30 seconds then stop. Any ideas.

Check each individual cell with a VOM. One of the cells is probably bad, IE has been overcharged or over discharged. When you find the bad cell, remove it and rebuild the pack as a smaller one. Then use a balancer when charging it.

If none of this makes sense to you, throw the battery away as it is too dangerous for a novice to fool around with.

The voltage is the same on all cells. She left it on the charger but her dad does also and his is fine I was wondering if it has something to do with a voltage check when charging through the charger or something like that. Also the voltage goes up when I check in series (2.4 - 4.8 and so on )

First of all, what are you doing sending your wife out to to the whipper snippering

I've seen laptop batteries with the same issue, it usually has to do with the circuit board inside, which acts as a cell balancer and low voltage protection, having a fault.

Batteries can be charged with an RC charger set up to charge Li-ion batteries, the pack has to be modified though.

Faulty chargers sell many batteries. Does the charger work on anything else?

Have you tried charging the battery up on your dear wifes fathers charger?
That will tell you if it's the battery or the charger.
Paul.
