This one looks a bit more Robust than the foamie from LA Heli. My LA Heli is stock except I added rudder. Which one of you guys will loop the version in this thread first?

I must admit that I have looped my C-30 a couple of times, [but that was during the first trimming flights,so I don't know if that counts.]:

Front landing gear, nothing to say; just screw in place the A and B wood plate, and trim as needed strut holes;
Notice that all wires are joint together simply with a bit of shrinking tube, and this solution WON'T survive first landing, in my opinion, so I need to think something stronger; maybe soldering, IF these wire could be soldered, let's see further;

I don't want so much tail weight, and I don't like stock wheels, so I changed with more scale-like front wheels and usewd a really lightweight rear wheel.

In order to keep as light as possible the tail section, I replaced the original, heavy linkage with a much lighter Pull-Pull solution.
For rudder, I used a digital HS 55 servo. Wire is a metal fishing wire covered with plastic; the great is that you can heat it with a lighter for secure your knot.

I don't know which kind of wire it is, or which kind of fish is supposed to be used for, but I'm sure your local fishing shop can help you

Just use a smaller gauge control rod and go with the existing tube and lever: you'll be happy with the result, your tailwheel will track the rudder perfectly and you will have a more pleasing (aesthetically)(an opinion) setup.

Mine works just fine with the 2mm gauge rod provided, if you make appropriate bends in both ends to relieve tension!

I do wish I'd trusted my instincts on that little notch in the horizontal stab, but mine came out just fine arse backwards.

The stab is either symetrical or so close it won't likely matter.

I'm using a slightly different set up for rudder pushrods.

In retrospect I think the picture posted on the Cierva page for the tailwheel / rudder arm and in the build hints should be reversed (upside down).



This will bring the holes of the EZ connectors closer to the thrustline of the rudder pushrod.

Unfortunately, I glued the tailwheel strut into the arm before I realised this.

Fortunately, there are many means of acheiving the same result-my rudder setup looks pretty much as above.

No, I want a ligt setup, so I don't care about a steerable tail wheel: I go simple and straight

Is there a slot under the covering for the Ventral fin (the one below the fuselage)?

Or does it just glue on to the keel?

The slot is there: I used a soldering iron to open it up.
