850mah/20c, JST leads? why?

Hi All,

I have 1x 800mah/20c (2 more in mail), but for some reason it came with a JST lead (I should have read the description closer, d'ohh). I think my 50mm 20A EDF will kill those leads.

Who is this battery for? If I replace the connector with an XT60 or EC3, will I be ok? I don't want to replace the battery leads, unless there's a safe way to do it.

thanks

Really? I thought everyone knows that battery is for ME.
I use the JST's on all of my >1000mah packs but that is my way.
Chose a connector and stay with it as it is your standard. When you buy a pack expect to change the connector. That is a given now-a-days.
If you can't solder talk to you LHS or FB and have them do it for you.

It's not just the connector that's the problem. Unless they've changed, they also have a very small gauge wire. I took Charles suggestion and spliced in some heavier 16g wire about an inch from the pack. It's probably just convenient For GensAce to use the JST pigtails, but it doesn't make sense on a battery this size. I wasn't happy when I got mine.

I don't get this for a couple of reasons. First, my readings are higher (though I have something that might explain that), and second, what is a 3016b? Is that a typo or an old charger?

Looks like they are going to surplant the Blue Lipos maybe?
NOTE:
On my 25C pack, On the back, it says not to charge above 5C.
It also says Store Long Term at 3.4V per cell. I believe this to be WRONG! should be 3.85V per cell.

typo, should be 3010B charger.
Btw, the temperature you test a battery at makes a huge difference and back then, I did not log that. Lower tempatures = higher IR.
the standard temp you measure at SHOULD be about 72F but I don't think I measured at that temp back then.

Ah, thanks. What about the number of cycles on a pack. I probably have 20-40 cycles on my packs, and was getting 12-14 mOhms. (4S 2200 mah).

After the break in period, the IR only gets worse, not better from my experiance.
How much worse depends on the pack quality and how you have cared for it.
