Maiden with Hägar today. Calm, cool air was perfect for trimming. The Turnigy was a really bad motor. Tomorrow it will have a NEU 1115 on board. New trimming exercise due to the lighter motor, but speed wise it will be a screamer turning a 6.5*5.5 at high revs on 4S...

I guess no flying due to continuing light snow? I find it kind of ironic that it's too cold for you and it's too hot and humid for me lately to venture out during the day....

Hi Peter,
I've ratted around looking for some meaningful data for a Mega 16/40/1.5SC on 4 cells and 8 inch prop for you and have come up with very little thats useable I'm afraid.

The attached graph shows in level flight:
13.6 volts or only 3.4 volts per cell - obviously not my best pack being used.
21040 rpm
96 amps
APC 8 x 6 prop.

Now, I would be very happy to run some level flights using my near new 4 cell 5000mAh 50C Nanotechs this weekend using a couple of different pitchs for you?

(With an expected maximum of 24 degees C and clear sunny skys for the rest of the week, I shouldn't have any excuses but to fly! )

I would also expect Mopar would have an abundance of data for this setup too.

Thanks a lot, Peter. I would love to see some more data if you're going to run a 4S/8inch or a 5S/7inch setup, but you don't have to go lengths to do so if you weren't planning to in the first place. My new motor is not the same as yours so collecting data is more of general interest than a 1:1 use. But it will be interesting to compare the 16/40/1.5SC to the 22/35/1.5ER and I hope I can post some static test data during next week...

Today I ran the following on 4 cell 4000mAh 40-50C Nanotech's and measured the following. Unfortunately it was a bit busy at the field and I didn't manage perfect long level runs but this will give you an ideal anyway!

APC 8 x 6 Sport
14.7 volts
105 amps
1540 watts
22500 rpm

APC 8 x 7 Sport
14.3 volts (3.58 volts per cell)
112 amps
1600 watts
21200 rpm

These will be my last posts on my 16/40 for a while as my next run on 5 cells and 7x8 didn't agree with the motor windings! (Yes, I should have listen to Gryphon!)

Looks like your data was taken from straight and level runs. VERY nice !!!!

I think we need to be VERY carefull to specify that this info is from inflight and taken from a straight and level run, this way if someone was to static test this setup, they wouldnt be in for too big of a suprise.

Today, I smoked my 40-1.5sc as well, Gryphon is usually allways on the $$$ with his destruction predictions.

Were browsing through some old posts and tho98027: you were more right than I realized at the moment back then: the 22/40/1E was the first motor I got for the Hägar project, but I found it too wild for my needs. I actually exchanged it for a 22/35/1.5ER, so you were doubly correct

Still working on the manuscript, I'm afraid... Have to wait for the field to be opened again to launch this monster. Snow and icy soil makes bungee launching difficult. I'll post as soon as I can....
