This one is getting the 22/.....

Yes, it is cruel, so please dont hold it against me as I rain on your parade

You might wish to wait for the bigger motor to maiden. Your trims and CG will DRASTICALLY change between the "little" 1115 and the big MEGA. What works for the 28mm motor will be very tail heavy with the 36mm motor.

Can you hold on to one elevon (with batteries installed) and try to bounce your Stryker, like you are shaking or trying to tear off your elevon ? If you can shake the snot out of it and the elevon doesnt rip off, or break any hinge(s) then I would feel much more comfy with you flying @ 150 mph with it. Best to see if it fails now, the fall from 2 feet is much easier than any fall from in flight.

I like the detail with the 8 legged horse, got a quick readers digest of the history on it ??

First: I don't think of you giving me good advice as an act of cruelty, Mopar!

I was thinking of using a smaller Lipo (4S3000) with the 1115 to prevent CG from changing too much. The 22 will be fed by 4S5000 (and maybe a high C 4000). I also want to try the 16/25/2EC with a 6.5*6.5 in Sleipner for exploring the capability of the small Mega.

I will definitely try to shake the horse by the tail () to see if the elevons can take it.

When it comes to the 8 legged horse Sleipner (Sleipnir in Old Norse) it originates from Viking mythology and was the horse of Odin - the king of the Viking gods. It was the fastest horse in the world and could run equally fast on land, in the air and on the sea. Details are found here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sleipnir

I put a 4S5000 in the Sleipner and shook it like crazy for 10 secs at the time while holding her by the very tip of the ailerons (one at the time). That was no problem at all. Not even a single crack or slack or further travel or anything...just as tight as before the beating. Think it will hold up, but will do it your way by embedding the hinges on my next build which was kicked off last night while the final layer of paint on the Sleipner was drying...

Here's the design of the verticals on my latest build.
I made them in a shape I thought was agressive and cool and painted them to fit the rest of the paint scheme.
I made the bottom like skids and the material used is 4mm ply painted with epoxy.
I really don't know how this design will work out when it comes to stability and authority, and any feedback on this will be much appreciated...

What size and wind 22 Mega did you order and what size prop and current draw are you expecting when using a large 4 cell?

It is said to have a resistance of only 0.003Ohm and a kv of 2040.
My hope is that it can swing a 7*10 at 150 amps or so....

Here are some estimated values (should be interesting to compare them to real life data...)

Went to the field with "Sleipner" for maiden flight with the MEGA 16/25/2EC.

Launch and a couple of speed passes on APC6.5*6.5 and 4S5000 40C

Stryker Sleipner (0 min 45 sec)

The pass @ 20 seconds is where this came from. I guessed at the temp.
The pass at the end was around 118 mph.......................
Average of about 130 mph

No wind today. First pass at 85% batt and second at about 30%.
Incredible performance of this 16/25/2EC on a 4 pound Stryker!!!!
The MEGA is a GEM
