I've been eyeing a few items from HC that have the swarm sale available and wondered why we don't have something like this on here? Some of the swarm sale items are pretty heavily discounted if you get one going and finished.

So I thought, why don't we have one on here that has current swarm sales going on so you can jump into one or create one for other people to jump into and save even more money?

A swarm sale is pretty much like a small group buy, you create a swarm sale on an item you want (if it is available for that item) and it gives you a much lower price on that item if you get 6 people total to buy it along with you. So you can either join one already in progress (they only last 12 hours) or start one yourself.

I will try to moderate this thread and delete any swarm sales that have expired.

A good idea brought up by bnrusso,

I'd probably like to participate in a swarm sale but why not list the items you would like to get without creating the swarm. Wait for 6 people to agree they want it too and then start the swarm. I only check this thread at most once a day. But if we agree to a future time to create the swarm some time after we get at least 6 wouldn't we have a better chance of getting this to fly??

I think this is a great idea to have on here...

I also thought about it and I'm going to just put up on the first post any current swarm sales that get posted, that way they are always at the top.

OK, I gotcha -- I went to HK's site and didn't see the "swam option" on any product pages. I see now that it is only available on certain items....I am guessing it is like the platinum member discount -- only available on the more expensive, less popular items.

Not really...I've had better performance and lower IR ratings with the turnigy packs vs. the flightmax packs. (my experience)

What the heck. I joined the swarm for the 25c 6s5000 turnigy packs last night and this morning received an email notification that enough people have joined the swarm for the discount. But when I follow the link in my email they sent me, the item is not discounted and I see no place to enter the code without starting another swarm sale. What am I missing? Where do I apply the code?

I think you apply the discount code during checkout -- on the checkout screen where use choose which shipping option you want, there is a place to insert discount codes (generally from leaving reviews). I believe this is where you type in the code.

If you got the email, those packs are added to your cart with the special price. Check your cart and report back.

I tried applying the code there as well and nothing, it simply says the code is invalid.

Moose, it shows my cart as being empty and yes I'm logged in. Has anyone been able to get this to work?
