This is VERY Strange. I was just going through my Lipo packs I have used only one of these packs and it is a 3 cell 1200 pack which is fine BUT One of my 2 cell 700 Packs is Puffed up. Thing is I have NEVER USED IT. All it has been doing is sitting there on the shelf. WITH all my other packs. It is in a cool dark place. No one else hase touch let alone used them. What Gives?

check the voltage on it.
Is just one of the cell's puffed up. or both.
could be an internal short, or possiblt a short where the two cells are joined.

that looks bad.
I would say it has an internal short.
If it can't be returned(you should check with seller), cut off the shrink wrap and see if solder connections might be touching where they don't need to.
If you haven't used the battery, a reputable dealer should offer some compensation. IMHO
edit: don't dissect the battery until you have talked with the dealer, they may want it for examination

I had 2 packs go bad from just sitting. They were 2 cell 950 mahs from another vendor. Charged them and let them sit for a month or so. When I went to use them, one was obviously bloated and the other would not run the plane and when placed on a charger, all I got was error messages. I did a extensive search on this and found most vendors or experienced rcers say DO NOT leave Lipos fully charged for any period of time. Thats why they ship them 1/2 charged. Still another group say this is a urban myth. Well this myth cost me $60.

the whole purpose of a battery is to store a charge of electricity for future use.
If you cannot store them at full charge, then what good are they?
They are shipped at half charge because of shipping restrictions. probaby because of a certain amount of defects like Mal's.
I'm not a battery expert or anything, but I don't want to wait until my electricy goes off to charge my flashlight...

I have not contacted Dave YET. I just found this problem this morning. I am going to email him right away and let him know i will be sending it back to him. I am pretty sure he will give me another pack.
