Complaint
http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?p=16011738#post16011738

I contacted The RawStory where I copied and pasted segments of their news article and here is the response I received. In my opinion, this reporting for Copyright Infringement is being ABUSED.

Go for it. Just attribute stand provide a link. Thanks! J John Byrne Publisher > The Raw Story http://rawstory.com This email is off the record unless explicitly stated otherwise. I went ahead and removed the context of the post but again, the site where this segment came from have no objection to segments of articles posted else where as long as the source is sited. However, it appears that people are using the reporting feature of this site as a means to silence opposing views.

The moderators are buckling down on the "copyright infringement" rule. No one is abusing this feature of the site. Did you state you had permission to use the quoted text in your post?

I posted the Link as required my The RawStory site and I never post the entire article, just a paragraph or two at the most. So, I followed all of the rules that I am aware of.

A link back to an article is fine. Posting even a few paragraphs is no longer acceptable. It would be difficult and time consuming for a moderator to determine if a user had actual permission.

Then In my opinion, having an open discussion especially political based is not going to work under these conditions. Without evidence to support one's position, it is all just hearsay. As stated, many people are using the reporting feature here as a means of silencing opposing views. Recall this one? http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1293885

I post the source and permission as part of the article but yet it was still reported.
