I wanted to put FPV equipment on my Techone Souka EPP plane. I mounted a pan/tilt, video transmitter and headed out to a local parking lot. Things went well until the wind came up. I realized that this plane just was NOT a good choice for FPV...

Felt cool looking around from that perspective - I just wish it handled better.

I took it home and ripped everything off the plane, to avoid another disaster.

Ok, so, having failed miserably with my 3d foamie, I still want something to fly slow with.

A few preferences, maybe someone can recommend and airframe accordingly?

- Want to fly slow, for close-in park & tree flying.
- Cant be too fragile, cause Im going to crash it.
- Preferably ailerons for more maneuverability.

I dont want an easystar (have one, and it doesnt really turn my crank). I was thinking slow stick, as they're proven, but I dont know how maneuverable it is having only a rudder.

I kind like the planes TBMG1 & crew fly - EPPIM do they call it? It might not be willing to carry pan/tilt and accessories though... Anyone know? They seem to fly slow enough to enjoy the surroudings.

I would love your suggestions for an airframe! Thanks!

About as obvious as not flying around those big radio towers that seem to cause so much trouble.

Thats why I tore off all my gear... There's always some breeze. Thats why I want a different airframe... 3d foamie isnt a great solution, its just what I had sitting around for my "experimenting"

I don't think you're going to find a slow flying plane that is going to like flying in wind.
The problem is, we fly with scale aircraft in non-scale air. If the wind and
turbulence is bigger than the plane, there's not much you can do about it.
That said, maybe try an EPP 3D platform and throw a set of gyros on it.

I will look into this, but I have to keep it lightweight. I cant imagine trying to throw another 75grams into this thing, it was struggling with what I had! Maybe a larger 3-d platform, or lighter FPV gear.
