syma s107 top blade not working

I just got this yesterday. I've had a few good flights.. girlfriend picks it up and breaks it!! fail. She didn't even crash hard, the top blade is not spinning, the gear is not spinning for the top blade, the bottom blade seems to be spinning at full speed. Any suggestions? I'm new to heli RC so hopefully there is an easy fix.

I had alot of problems with the motors in my MCX2 slipping in the frame so that they would not engage the gear or engage the wrong gear.
I did not spend much time on the S107 so I'm not sure if they suffer the same issue.
Take it apart and make inspect the motor pinion and gears as you turn the blades by hand.

The teeth on the motor need to mesh with the teeth on the gears to make the blade spin. make sure this is happening by looking at the motor and gears as you turn the blade by hand

check to see if the screw holding the gear to the shaft is missing or loose.
