I am new to the forum.

I have just bought myself a GPV 1 and have read alot of what is on the forums about them here.

I have done abit of RC before abit of car stuff years ago and some nitro planes a few years ago. After seeing the GPV 1 it has peaked my interest again especially since I ride bikes myself.

Anyway I have seen the term "Crash Back" used, could some one give me a good image of one of these fitted to a GPV 1 and perhaps the cost of one and where I could get one?

Sadly, you are stuffed for buying a crashback for the GPV off the shelf, the Mclarney boys have ceased production and no more will be produced. (AFAIK).
Your only option is to make one or ask if anyone can do it for you...
Chris Nicastro has mentioned in passing that GPV's are going to get a crash back but I can't see it happening for a while yet sadly.
Fear not though, whilst a crashback is nice, you can get away without one,(just don't crash head on into things ). they are just to allow the forks to move back slightly when you have a heavy crash (thus not breaking fork legs, bending wheels etc).
Tried to take a pic of a 1/5 crashback so you have an idea but the phone won't play so that is that idea stuffed as well. so..
Have a look at the NF manual here and page 5 shows you one. (best I can do, sorry).

Hi Mate. I do a crashback for the Venon for 10 pounds including postage. I can send you a picture if you email me on davepr1@ntlworld.com.

From memory I think LukeyB has made them for the GPV before as well.
They can also give you better range of rake adjustment.

I have installed it now but I will take some piccys for you with it in place.

Its a very simple design Scaulfi has used which is why I'm amazed that Venom didn't incorporate one in the initial design.

Yeah you and the rest of us champ... we have been asking for one of these for a long time... a few of us here have made our own, and they work fine... but it's hard for back yarders like me and others to be able to produce any sort of quantity...

The crash back I made also incorperates the upper body mount (tank)... it allows both the wheelbase and rake to be adjusted without taking the bike apart...

Problem is it's all done manually, no CNC machine, so it took something like 6 hours to make ! (because I'm still teaching myself how to use the machinery) and there's only about $3 bucks of aluminium involved...

Venom has said they are releasing a crash back soon, but I have no idea of the date...

Or try getting on to Chris(toyranasuar) from rogue elements, if enough people ask I'm sure he would do a batch...

It's on the list, but to be candid, if the Alloy sprocket I offered is an indication of the response I can expect, bike parts aren't looking like a good use of my time. Not to sound snotty, just a simple business reality! Chris
