How much better is the hp06 with 14t. I might just break down and buy one of those.

Much better because the heli is 5.5 grams lighter with the
HP06 compared to the 003 motor. There is a big difference
in climb out and response with the lighter helicopter
as I noticed the very first time I tried it. Plus the HP06 will run cooler
than the 003 motor and get better flight time with the extra 5.5 grams weight off the heli.

If it wasn’t for the throttle delay in the RX this heli would
really have fast responsive time and climb out like it does on the CB100.

V2 of the RX will fix this problem also (we hope).

I have added the RX settings both factory and mine with pictures at the request of Hellraser.

Would there be a release log to document the versions, and would it be upgrade-able assuming we can figure out which version we have?

I don't know how they will label which version is which yet.
I should know when the V2 V120D02 RX comes out in 3-4 weeks.
It could be called the RX2610V2 or be a different color, or ...?

If (when) the V2 RX2441V comes out for the V100D01 all we would
have to do is swap it out with the one we have in there now.

Thanks Tom I suggested it because it was the only thing I could see that needed adding to what is a very concise and extensive review - I think its really great that within a week of the helicopter being widely available that there is such a solid and honest review available.

Your welcome David. That was a good idea, thanks.
The only thing else left that I can think to do is flight times
with all the motors and pinions I tested.
But my batteries are bad. I use to get 9-10 minutes flight time with them
on my CB100 with the HP06 but it went down to just get 5 minutes.
The batteries have seen there day and need to be replaced.
I have used them all year countless times. I got my money out of them for sure.
I'll order some soon new batteries and post flight times.
Yosi has posted flight time for the stock V100D01 which is good.

Hi Tom I have ran 4x 600 batteries through the V100 stock - Just steady hover and all would do over 10 min - I set the 2801 timer to 10:10 and measured the residual current in the batteries @ 3.51-3.73V. Which is a little bit lower than I would recommend So yes it will fly ten mins and over with 600 battery as walkera claim. One nice aspect is that the tail holds well throughout the life of the battery - non of that nasty drift you used to see as the battery ran down on the 4#3's.

I have the 500 batteries from the Cb100 but like yourself their is a lot of traffic through them so any results would not be fair or accurate.

I had some more flights. I said average flight time was 5 - 7 min before. But it depends on total condition such as electrical contact at batttery connector and battery itself, as it draws much current due to its heavy weight. I had max 9 min after that.

I am getting over 10 min with the stock setup and stock 600 battery - in very steady hover with minimal throttle change or servo input - I also tested a battery until the heli dropped from lack of power and the residual charge was 3.47V so you could probably go on longer. But after taking an average on 4 batteries I feel it was a fair test.

I would expect in more aggressive flight the time would be down to 8 min's or less - I doubt that walkera would have based their flight time on aggressive flight.

What I did notice is with the 500 batteries the power was way down and flight times much shorter - but that could be the age of the batteries - they have seen considerable use.

XP-7A-2 on the V100D01

OK I really want to use the XP-7A-2 on the V100D01 as it is made to
work with both inrunners and outrunners and it is fully programmable
and it has LVC also. Plus it is small and light.

As I reported before the main motor will not arm with the XP-7A-2.
only the tail motor will arm. The main motor does beep as it should
but it doesn't do the final beeping to arm.

So I tried a new XP-7A-2 and another motor soldered to the XP-7A-2.
The same thing. The main motor will not arm.
I have set top and bottom throttle on both of these esc's.
So I grabbed my programming card for the XP-7A-2 and spent
hours trying different combinations instead of the factory defaults.
Nothing helped. The main motor will still not arm, only the tail motor.
So for some reason the XP-7A-2 won’t work with the V100D01 RX.
This sucks as it is the best esc to use with both inrunner and outrunner motors
and it is fully programmable and has LVC protection.

I also tried different throttle travels in the TX but nothing made the main motor arm.

Hi David, thanks for posting this information!
10 minutes of flight time is very good!
Walkera is correct then on the flight time they claim.

What is the lowest you should go on the battery?
The XP-7A esc has 3.1V LVC for the high protection setting.

So does that mean we can go down to 3.1V safely on the
3.7V battery?
I usually stop at 3.6V - 3.8V. I would like to go lower if I can.
