Dan,
You got Q blades? They have a bigger chord than the cb100/A-B blades. According to Tom...2 or 3 mm shorter than V100, same chord. A middle ground 'tween the 2

regards,
Bill

whats the spur gear count 120t? same as A/B, CB100 and is the frame an A/B frame?

to me it looks like the B frame bill except they have built up the support under the tail fin I cannot detect any other difference.

Yeah, but unfortunately the CB100 and 4#3B main shafts are not sold separately. You have to buy a complete head assembly which costs like $15.

We always just bent the CB100 shafts straight again.. I think mine is now bent also after one battery.. I hate the slow/delayed throttle stop this thing has.. Reminds me of the mSR's headless chicken dance.

If you can get the 4#3 or "A" plastic head main shafts...you can remove the shaft by heating the plastic head until it's soft enough to pull the shaft.

Bill

hey,
is the lag present on acceleration, too?

Unfortunately it is on a quick acceleration but not if your
just flying around and giving more throttle normally.
In a hover when you punch the throttle
it has a delay response.

The two issues with this helicopter so far are and the second one is NASTY:

1. The V100D01 has a delayed throttle response (slow throttle react).

2. It has a slow/delayed throttle stop which is not good. When you
crash and cut the throttle, the rotor will continue to turn for a second or two.

Is the motor still getting power during the wind down or is it inertia?...I notice the inrunners don't stop as fast as an outrunner.

It is still getting power during the wind down.
It sounds like the throttle isn't all the way down but it is.
So far it isn't hasnít burned out the esc.
Why would they release this with this condition?
And there is no reason for the delayed throttle response.

These are two issues and they need to be fixed.
I am sure Walkera is reading my reviews as they do Darryl's.
So maybe they will fix these issues with the RX.
They did with the V120D02 as Darryl and I trashed it so much sales
slowed down on it on now there is a V2 of it.

I am also sending my findings over to wowhobbies and see if they
can get Walkera to fix them.

Two issues with the V100D01

Everybody who is reading this and have the V100D01 or are getting a
V100D01 should post about the two problems it has so far which are:

1. The V100D01 has a delayed throttle response (slow throttle react).

2. It has a slow/delayed throttle stop which is not good. When you
crash and cut the throttle, the rotor will continue to turn for a second or two.
It is like you still have throttle in the radio but you don't.
You can hear the motor still has power during this brief time.

My hope is that by posting this Walkera will fix these issues.
The firmware needs to be corrected.

I have sent an email to WowHobbies to have them let Walkera
know about this.
I think Walkera is following Dan's and my review but if not
they need to know these issues.

While posting about this slow powering off problem might make Walkera correct it on the V2 looks like I along with a lot of others will just have to learn not to crash.. As Walkera sure isn't going to do anything to help us paying beta testers. I'm starting to get a little tired of this when will I learn to wait for the V2's to come out????

Edit::: This is a real bad safety problem in my mind...

While I do notice the throttle lag, it doesn't bother me that much. It would be nice if they fixed it, but it doesn't make me regret my purchase or make me feel like a beta tester. The only thing I don't like about the heli is the lack of pull out power. I think I was just spoiled by the V120D01 which has so much pull out power that I just expected the V100 to have similar abilities. Other then that I really like how this flies. It's a vast improvement over the 4#3B and a lot of fun to fly around the living room.

Yes I agree Dan it flys very nicely and in my opinion it is by far the best of the 4#3 series to date including the CB100 which is also a very good helicopter - However Bob does have a point and walkera do need to address the motor run on when the throttle is cut - it has the potential to cause more crash damage than would otherwise happen.

Mine seems to have good enough pull out power not crazy but OK.. This reminds me of my 4#6's with the stock 003's one having great power and other hardly able to fly at all..

I noticed that it looks like they have trimmed off the trailing edge of the blades on mine. And the blades are very thick compared to the CB100/4#3 blades. But then the stock 4#6 blades were thick on the model shipped and the replacement blades were made thinner from my experience.. I wonder if they made a change already and reduced the cord of the blades for faster head speed.. Anyone tried some 4#3B blades yet?? I hope they will work as I have a lot of them in stock..
