mid hull details....

details of the mid hull:
this part will seperate for access of radio gear. by now you are probly wondering how i am going to cover and make water tight this hull.

paper and laquer sealer.

anyways, i am using magnets to keep the hull in place. i am planning to use rubber cement to seal the hull halfs.

was going to use electomagnets, Actuators. bought some 40 somthing gauge wire, 800 feet, i have a transmitter and receiver set on 27Mhz, i am planning to use just the circuitry and make/programme a custom encoder/decoder chip, so my channels are basically limited by the chip size. if i am using actuators, then i just need two line per channel, and i have 12, so i have a possible 6 channels. the problem is going to be the the driver circuitry. i need 4 transistors and 4 resistors for each channel. unless i go SMD, its going to get real big. probly going to go SMD one day, the hull is almost done, the rest is electonics.
the sub will run off of 2.4 V, and will be using a 85MAh lipo for the RX decoder (Attiny44). i am hoping that i get enough thrust to dive the sub dynamic style.

hull is almost complete. just need a little bit of the aft end and the superstructure. waiting on 40 gauge green magnet wire and still working on control board.

pics: preliminary PCB image. print at 300dpi

Have you ever constructed a voltage booster for 1S to put 5v to the rx?

voltage booster

hmm. . . never lookd into it. but 5v is common. i think there is a solid state IC for voltage boost. . . amp abuser: how much current would u need?
anyways just realizd i am over thinking this. . . the rc car radio wil work jurt fine with 2.5 channels. . . just need throtle. planning to use a motor bike style thing. push the stick up twice for more speed. pull back 3 times for reverse.

Amp abuser: http://www.maxim-ic.com/datasheet/index.mvp/id/5127

dc to dc step up chip. 2.5v to 4.2 input, 3V to 5V output, 1 amp current. only problem, 3mm by 3mm SMD chip. but i hear with a 15 watt soldering iron that is not that hard........

yeah, went round and round with that in my head. a plus is that the acrylic paint dries in minuites instead of hours.
writing code right now for the trottle. going to be using a paddle shifter style throttle, electronic of course. 4 forward speeds, one neutral, and 4 reverse speeds.
i might post this i an instrucable when it works flawlessly. if it ever does.
