I started with my Cg back in the neighborhood of 115-116mm (based on this thread) and so far I haven't had much problem landing. I had to do the same with my Eflite F4 - on that plane I am well behind the Cg range. I do tend to run off the end of the runway sometimes so I'm experimenting with more flap travel to see if I can get it to slow down better.

Hey guys, I know it's kind of an obscure servo, but do you think the spektrum a5030 digitals would work in this bird? Here are the specs:

I just built that setup and I'm only pulling 98Amps at 3000watts on 10s. I'm not gonna fly it on 12s but 11s will be a regular thing with that motor. Unfortunately, my ESC died while taxiing out last week so it's in the process of being replaced and then I'll have some numbers on 11s. The Jetfan isn't rated for that much thrust but it will be fine IMHO. If you decide to go all alloy you'll need a motor with an 8mm shaft as I read Gary doesn't have adapters for 5mm.
