It is extra but worth the money as it is sized for the nose strut pin that Tam upgrades to 5/32" wire. I have 75+ flights on mine without any issue.

3 questions after getting my habu in the mail, assembling things, programming the radio.

1) Should I adjust the ESC settings, specifically motor timing? Ice 100 in there.
2) Tamjets nose strut/wheel slightly bump into fuse when retracted. During testing the retract stalled once and wouldn't operate until I power cycled again. Anyone have suggestions on how to fix/avoid problems.
3) Will run on stock motor/fan w/ 6s until I decide to upgrade in the future perhaps. For amp draw do you think running w/ deans on battery OK. I wonder if I hadn't ought to upgrade to bigger bullet connectors.

Did you add the 1/4" ply spacer?
Deans are fine. ec5 are a good choice

Tight clearance with the strut, I shaved a few mm off the fuse opening where it needed it.
I run the default setting on my ice100. no issues.
Also using deans with 7S 5000s on stock fan/motor, Use genuine deans, not the cheap copys, they fail. But bullet connectors(EC5)) are much better should you choose that route.

Got a few more flights on my Habu32 yesterday, on the last flight my ESC low voltage cut hit on finals and I landed in the rough just short of the runway. No damage to the airframe but I damaged a retract.



The two arrows indicate that the plastic piece and the brass collar should be one piece. The brass gets pulled out of the plastic piece with the weight of the impact which is fine as it saves the retract and the model/wing etc etc, however does anyone know where to buy just that piece?

This is the second time I've had this problem, last time I had to buy a whole retract which kind of defeats the purpose of 'saving the retract' if you have to buy one anyway...

If I could I would buy a bag of 10 of those little suckers - Horizon told me that they don't sell that piece seperately

there are a bunch of chinese cheapos that work flawlessly and are a direct drop in.. get those.. I don't see why you shouldn't

Send it in and they will replace the gear. keep a spare unit in your flight box

But then again, it's possible neither would work.

actually those are the upgrade for the changesun retracts to be converted with metal trunion.. a complete retract will also work and they are cheap as chips..
I have them in 3.3 and 4kg planes and they work juuust fine.
