Anybody know what I am talking about?

I think there are two or three different models:

This one which is probably the one you want:

Though there is this one as well (probably smaller than you want but nonetheless):
http://www.nitroplanes.com/79p-8002-...and-green.html

Or there is this one which I believe is slightly longer (though I'm not 100% sure):

Of course, the robart styrofam and plastic tube stand (super stand II) is a good one too:

Hope this helps,

Does anyone know about the Jetfan 80? It looks pretty good but I wonder if it's a knock off fan? To the untrained eye, that would be me, it looks someone went out and designed it from scratch.

It looks good.

If you look at the design of the blades Keith, you'll see that it was designed primarily with the sound in mind. The way the blades are shaped is not the best for efficiency or for thrust.
I would call it a "Scale" EDF.

I have 2 jetfan 80 and they put out more thrust than the stock setup, using a arc 2080 , about 92 amps and 6lbs of thrust. Yes they sound amazing

Habu 32 Denver (3 min 30 sec)

In comparison: an eflite 80mm puts out 5 lbs of thrust at 62 amps.
That's on 6 cell. Don't know what you're using.

6s 5000mah nano, getting 4:30 flights. It's a personal things , isn't it ? These are all toys in a sense , for me this is a good compromise between flight time , sound and money spent. I have a 1900kv and 2150kv to play with in these fans, I feel they are a good value for your money , and if you look at the thread they are selling fast, must mean something .

Installed Static Thrust: 4.50 lbs
RPM: 38,500
Watts: 1,400
Current: 62A
* Data measured installed in Habu 32 DF using BL32 DF Brushless Motor, 2150Kv & 6S 5000mAh 30C Battery

This is the eflite data in a habu 32, just wondering where you got 5lbs.

Notice it says installed *STATIC* thrust is 4.5lbs. Once you are airborne and moving at speed the fan efficiency increases because it doesnt have to suck air in as hard, it has ram air coming in to help lesson the work load.

5 lbs sounds about right to me. if you want to know an exact thrust number in flight you can do what i do. buy an annemometer and a leaf blower and a fish scale. hook the scale to the tail of the plane to measure pounds of pull, position the leaf blower so it is blowing down the intake and adjust wind speed to obtain 100mph as measured with the annemometer.

Same goes for my setup, that's 6.4 lbs static.
