wow 88amps that makes me wonder if we didn't have a fan going down or something else going on, thats a big difference Gary what is the typical amp draw your seeing from the 6s mega/eflight setup ours was 100+ from the start

for me its not that hard to believe but seeing is believing and I agree smooth flying can add 3 or 4mph easy but also consider I am also a super smooth energy conserving pilot trained from my early years of 1/2a, q500 and slope pylon racing so I know what it takes from the piloting side. I want to see it because it was me flying nicks Habu32 to the low 130's and its me flying his 8s mega Habu into the low 140's. so your saying your 6s mega is as fast as our 8s mega and I'm not doubting you I just want to see it, and it sounds like you are going to show us
Ok well damn....you're certainly a more better pilot than me

I actually tried the Q500 thing and man it is way harder than it looks!!

I'm not sure what you mean by "our environment". It's up to the user to provide proper cooling for the ICE Lite100 and the ICE 100 for the application. (thats why the Lite's are always put in the efflux.

The internal BEC (and CC BEC) amp outputdrops as the voltage increases
For the CC BEC it's max output is:
10A for 2s
7A for 3s
5A for 6s

Considering all the servos in the HABU you best to run the CC BEC on a dedicated 2s pack. or directly from LiFe pack (if all you servos can handle the voltage)

Also the BEC Pro will give you double the amps of the CC BEC.

Both BECs need to have a 5mph airfow for cooling.
yep! I know
he had at least three warnings about using the internal bec from me alone. needless to say he's running a123 rec packs now

Oh no not at all...I was being serious! The Q500 and slope guys who I've seen are very good indeed. So I was being completely serious. especially if you flew slope pylon....that takes some skill no doubt.

Yes exactly. Anyone can fly WOT in circles but when you have to manage your energy like you do in slope there is definitely a specific kind of skill set involved.

Before you all jump on bashing motor.
Here is simple fact.
Doesn't matter whom motor turn the rotor.

It about how many RPM it take to do that speed.
127-130 need 43k with stock fan
139-140 need 46k with stock fan
150 need 50k with stock fan
That is my data chart had run on stock rotor.
What made few mph different is depend on pilot skill and how good the airframe are put together.

I had post earlier.
Dec 3 at Button Willow we had annual Cali-Crew flying and club meeting.
Toys for Todd on that weeken too.
Anyone want to show what their claim. Come out to show it. Kenny Mac bring his radar gun and bunch good jets pilot will be there if you can fly smooth and there is enough eye witness that no diving or doing tailwind speed run.

That with stock exhaust tube.
I did try squeeze the exhaust tube down little bid.
Not much gain and loose little RPM.
So I kept stock for overall performance.

Here is the data I told you earlier of the post there is another option.

NeuMotor/Tamjets OEM motor for stock E-Flite 80mm fan.

2300 watts
43500 RPM
84A
8s 3600mAh
AUW 7.15 lbs.
$379.95 PNP with ICE LITE 100 special till XMAS.

This set up will be available about a week or 2 time. Just waiting on machine shop get me the custom made heat sink to fit stock fan.
So those can't spend for my hot rod.
This unit is very effecient for stock fan and low amps draw.
You can use any 25-35C 3600-4000mAh to kept it light.

I haven't run stock motor. But anyone had Castle ICE 100 can get the data.

This thread remains as entertaining as it is informative. The one thing I rarely see is a weather report with the speeds guys are achieving. While it would be nice to see temps, it would be really nice to see wind speed to see how much the downwind leg is contributing to the ground speed radared or dopplered, and how much was driven by the set-up & piloting. Does this make sense or do I need go back to the pot for another cup of java? Regardless of the data folks are reporting, I think you guys are awesome for all these advances that come our way as a result of your collective efforts. FIDO and thanks for sharing! Good flying Dana

Dana.
Temps are supposed to be shown in official speed run videos. Only two of those have been posted so far.
And up wind and down wind pass average should pretty much cancel out any wind. But yes. It would be good also to know how much there was during video.
