Having had 4 Ef Edges I didn't take to this as much after the 1st few flights. But after doing back to back between it and the Edge I now have a new favorite.

Seriously how good is this thing for a 48" aircraft.

I didn't like it much until about the 8th flight and then something changed and now I can't wait to get it back in the air.

A lot of people are surprised by the MXS pitch authority the first few flights, and a few are uncomfortable with it until they get used to it. That's why triple rates is such a good idea with the mid rate elevator being at 45 degrees. Like that the MXS is a lot like the other EXPs, but with the full 88 degrees it a very agile and advanced airframe. This is why I listed the MXS behind the others on my easy-to-fly scale. It's still an easy airplane ........ Just not as easy as the others.

I loved mine right away, but I also like a lot of pitch authority. A lot of people pick the MXS because of it's looks, which I think are the off the charts, and some of those aren't ready for all that pitch authority. For those folks, I suggest limiting the elevator to 45 degrees and that turns the plane into a pussycat.

Ideally you set up the low rates to match the manual. Then set up the mid rate to match the high rate from the manual, but with the elevator turned back to 45 degrees. Set up the super high insane rate to match the high rate in the manual and get all the elevator you can steal.

My MXS' get about 88 degrees of travel using the second to outside hole in the long Durbo arm and the end point cranked all the way up. My radio only has two rates, so I run a low rate and an insane rate.

Nice. That ought to scare the crap out of the circle fliers. Well done!

That, and anybody who puts Old Glory in their planes is ok with me.

Love the teeth.

Hey Doc, why do you put the U.S. flag on all of your airplanes? I'm noy knocking it, just genuinely interested.

I'm keeping the flags on the planes until all our sons and daughters come home.

Great way to support them... Love our military men and women. This summer my sister went missing at campground near a fast moving creek, after a exhaustive search we presumed she went in. We had a major search and people from all over the state helped out and volunteered there time, food and donations which my family greatly appreciates.
A Army unit not even a week back from 110 degree weather in Afghanistan lead by their sergeant came down to temperatures that were dipping down to 10F and were relentless in helping us find her. They did this on their own volunteering there efforts. These men and women are amazing and never could be thanked enough. My family certainly appreciates their sacrifices and noble work they do on their own time. God bless them.

Well we all searched until the creek froze and snow settled in which made a further search impossible. We did find her shirt and sweater that she was wearing on the side of the creek. We held a memorial where we thanked everyone including the Army guys... A number of them even attended the church service. My family will pick up where we left off when spring sets in.
