as strange as it sounds, msx is climbing in my food chain....

yesterday took out msx and 42" slick... somehow failed to lock in with slick, but msx just keep shining... feels SO MUCH MORE locked in, i actually did my first slow roll-rolling circle (wich looked more like oval spiral,) but the point is it felt so locked i didnt have to bail out lol!

im getting more and more unhappy with my 3s setup on this particular hacker (800kv+14x7)...or my batteries is getting tired or what, but 2200 30c doesnt even give me full 5min and most of the flight i have to be near WOT... AND 30c doesnt (anymore?) give me unlimited vertical near the end of timer... 65c makes me happy still! :P

so i guess my next plane will be 51", not 60" edge so i can convert to 4s batteries!

prop down to 12x6 and go up to 4s on that motor... will be perfect.

i still want to retain 13" prop... so im going to try 13x4-13x5 and check the grunt-amps first....

The recommended setup with a 13x4 will pull about the same amps with just a slight loss on top end. Slow flight however improves greatly and 3D and vertical pullout are much improved. This however is just my personal experience. Once I found a motor that used a 14x7 prop on 4s this plane really came to life though.

The Sunnysky 2820-800 from EP Buddy. Very nice motor but they have been out of stock for quite a while unfortunately.

This plane loves a large pitch 13" prop. I'm running a Xoar 13x7 at about 8800 rpms and a apc will spin it to 9600rpm

inflight I've gotten about 10.5 on 13x7. This plane loves to go fast.

Oh yeah, no doubt this plane loves speed. This plane just comes alive with good speed. Unfortunately I prefer a little slower style and going with the 14x7 with the Sunnysky gives me both, a better slow speed characteristic but still retains the high speed energetic qualities when I want a good rush. For me the other nice thing with the 14" prop is it becomes easier to do ke spins, entry seems easier and it stays locked in better. Of course these are just my personal observations based on my flying style.

If you go down to a 680kv or 750kv you can run 4S on a 14x7 and get really good flight time, speed, and power. That's what I do.

yes

yes it will. a little tricky to get a nice spinner gap, but it's possible.

go with the 680 hand wind. excellent power on 13X6.5, the 14x7 isn't even necessary although it is fun.

if you go with a 13x6.5 and 4s get the 750 or hand wind it down to 600 and do 5s 13x6.5

Yeah, a 630 or 600kv wind on 5S with a 13" prop is sick!

that extra diameter and mass really add a lot to pfactor and I can torque my laser through some manuevers. Its pretty sick!
