For some reason the bungee launch video had clearer sound on it even with the rooster crowing. I was able to get almost every pass.

Videos were recorded in Teresina, Brazil. On the day of recording the temperature
was 38 degrees Celsius. The sound is better in the second video because the camera
was fixed and less windy (in spite of the crowing rooster). The radar is not precise with small objects of more than 170kph,
as explained in the manual, so the speed was not confirmed with the pistol,
only able to confirm with the doppler. I put this radar sale to buy a better one.
In the second video Doppler got 145mph.

Please doppler based on the temperature of 38 degrees Celsius. Thanks!

I did doppler at 38C. I am not sure how much more evidence you need to believe your plane is not going the speed you claim. I posted many doppler plots with the speeds from your videos then you buy a radar gun and even when your video shows 174 kph on the radar AND doppler of the same pass shows 178kph you still think you model is going ~250 kph. What will be the excuse when your new radar gun gives you the same speeds?

Don

Cause you always tend to put my results lower. In the first video
4S was flying only to test the radar, just posted this video to
show the vertical takeoff. The second video posted to the doppler because
is in perfect condition for that. With results obtained in Doppler
145mph/237kph. You already posted the fastest results for a video (126.9 mph) in
topic -> http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1447650.

"The Don" is their first spoken words referring to the video:

Here is what the 5 dopplerable passes are assuming to 100F (38C air temp)

Pass 1 at 2:01 = 126.9mph
Pass 2 = 124.6 mph at 2:18
Pass 3 = 120.4 mph at 2:45
Pass 4 = 118.9 mph at 3:07
Pass 5 = 121.1 mph at 3:35

The waveoscope passes you posted in post # 1

Ok after adjusting the settings for temp the fastest pass I could get from the second video was 147.2mph or 246.9kph (rounded up). Now please bare in mind this is again using rcspeedo on my droid. Same pass as quoted by djtibas iirc.

The reason you are getting a higher speed at 1:33 is that you are including the throttle reduction as part of you speed. Here is what that pass looks like when you magnify it. As I said before, I would suggest you save your waveform at a smaller sample rate instead of 48kHz. If you save as 24kHz. Then it will magnify the waveform in waveoscope so you can see the lines clearer.

Here is the same pass in RCspeedo. You can see it shows two speeds which add up to 151mph. You can see how reducing the throttle added 26 mph to the speed. That is why you must hold throttle.

Retract Woes

Getting off the speed topic for a moment, I've been frustrated with a Changesun nose gear from HK and was looking for someone who may have gone down this path. Here is what I've done after reading related posts here and in other threads.

I have a DX 7 with orange 6-channel receiver. Both main gears retract smoothly. The nose moved down once then froze down. Several hours later it retracted then extended but froze down again and there it stays. No click, no buzz.

I've varied the EPAs from 90% to 150% in ten point increments. Mains work, nose -- no. Checked the subtrims in the radio. Set to zero. Checked the receiver battery I'm using to test -- 5.6 volts on the multimeter. Fresh out of ideas. Don't think I want to mess with sending a $12 part back and am considering taking it apart to see if something is unsoldered or blackened. Before surgery does anyone have a suggestion?

I've got the mains to install yet and some company coming and a trip so the reorder process shouldn't set me back too long. I want to get this bird into the air!!

Cheers,
Jim

The 3mm rod isn't bottoming out and jamming things up is it? I had that happen once on a new one.

I've had a few sets of these cheapy retracts now and all but one have worked well. I took the dud apart to find a broken limit switch on the circuit board.

Good luck!
