of course I know these are hard case car lipos, have the for my 1:10 buggy

I connected them in parallel to act as a 4S lipo
total weight with connectors is ~490gr
Is this a heavy load for meteor to carry (on 4S) and stock setup?
You'll need to connect them in series, not parallel, to get 4S. Its a little on the heavy side but should work (IMO).

Any idea what cost effective paints are best used airbrushing a foam plane?
I've been using this airbrush from Harbor Freight. Just down the street and low priced.

I've also had success with the "craft" paints in the small bottles at Walmart or Michaels. They go by different brand names but come in lots of colors and are about $1 each. Use windex or similar window cleaner to thin. Usually 50-50 or 1/3 - 2/3 paint to windex mix. As with most sprayed paints several light coats work best.

I'm going to try the wet paper masking technique. Good idea!

Man, if you can afford it, you can get a WHOLE lot more bang for the weight (100 grams lighter) with this battery

after the successful maiden comes the painting!
here's my progress so far
The blue paint on the nose and canopy removed easily with white spirit
unfortunately the white spirit wouldn't work with blue paint of the tail!! so later I paint it over in white

That looks great! And the bit of wing 'detailing' looks good too.
I think I would have filled out the rest of the rear top deck (green) to form around the fin base (like a sort of V of the fin base shape). The squared off ending to white looks a bit out of sync with the overall general patterns/theme.
That is one part that stands out to me right away as 'why is that there?" (white, square edged). But it isn't a fatal detraction at all.
And it looks fast too !!

I redid my main retracts.. their custom 'special offset pins'... as they were never quite pefectly aligned to the wheel wells I had made for the prior stock legs and wheels I had been using.
And I redid the nose gear with a 'proper' solid control arm and new oleo - because it would bend a bit every landing, and then not stter and retract quite perfectly - until you rebent it a bit

It was about time I fixed it all up to be solid and 'proper' in every aspect of the landing gear, so that it will all remain aligned and accurately operating ongoing..... unless a very bad landing or crash!

I still haven't decided what upgrade fan/motor system to use in it. I am juggling a bunch of option across two different aircraft. I was going to move to 6S but I am now thinking to remain at 5S, just with a bit more power..... but, not totally sure what to do yet.
It is pretty good as it is, so it is not something urgent to do.
