Great work Graham!
Pity about the tooling problems!

Hehehe
I would find someone who knows what he's doing for the next one!

When do you expect to do your first carbon/kevlar lay-up?
Can't wait!

Yesterday the wind was only 5-7 mph, so it was a good day for a newbie. But it was a blast.

Ok... back to sloping...

Only major issue to surface is that we have gained a bit of width in the boom interface area. I will resolve this issue by making the boom a little wider.

I'm very impressed with your DLG. Johann posted some photos in the AFC thread. Really nice work Graham!

Did you roll your own boom?

I maidened the Ventus at Maitlands yesterday in about a 15km Sw.
1st toss and flew well but lost lift and made a landing on the beach.
Some minor adjustments made to the mix settings and tossed it off a bit later in a stronger wind.
Lost lift in the downward run but managed to bring her back and land undamaged in the shrubs below.
I'm keen to know what is the ideal wind speed for flying the Ventus.

Strong enough to prevent it dropping out!

Nah...
About 22 km/h min (Maitlands) and below 35 km/h as she will start flapping her wings!
(That particular model!)
Walk her down to the beach if you can.
J
Knowing what those bush landings can do!
