Flat, packable... folding wing or delta?

I'm on a quest to create a flat, packable flyer with the express purpose of carrying an 808 key fob camera for aerial photography with me when I travel. So... doesn't need to be big or carry a big payload (17 gram 808 camera). I would like to be able to fly in a range of wind speeds because you never know what you'll find when you get there. It does need to be able to fly slow and stable for nice, smooth video from the camera.

There is a nice flying wing design in the Scythe thread that has been made foldable (with stub spar and magnets) and I'm also looking at deltas like the Superfly or HyperFlea (maybe with removeable fins?).

My plane will need to be built light to fly slow but there is also that "range of wind speeds" issue to consider.

What does "packable" mean? I think I'd like to get the size down to something that would pack flat in a suitcase that you can "carry on" a commerical flight but slightly larger would be OK too if necessary. I mostly travel by car (but not always with a lot of luggage space on family trips).

Carry on:

The maximum size carry-on bag for most airlines is 45 linear inches (the total of the height, width, and depth of the bag).

HyperFlea:

Wingspan: 22 inches
Length: 18.75 inches

Of course not a wing but you could look at the Multiplex Merlin. Wings and elevator are removable and an AP friendly folding prop.

Before considering the plane do think about the transport of lipos because i have heard there is a restriction to the max battery size that you can transport.

"You can arrive at the number of watt-hours your battery provides if you know how many milliamp hours and volts your battery provides:
mAh/1000 x V = wh"

Since I want to fly slow I'll build light and probably use something flat like:

Rhino 460mAh 2S 7.4v 20C Lipoly Pack

Calculation: 460/1000 * 7.4v = 3.4 watt-hours

So... looks like I'd be OK (by a fair sized margin)!

Other restrictions seem to be no batteries in checked luggage and not more than 2 "spare" batteries (not installed in the device). Batteries need to be with you in the plane (not gate checked).
