HET ME-163 Prop Jet By TurboFanElectrics.com

Hello All,

We will be building the newest release from HET, ME-163 prop jet. The jet is constructed with a fiberglass fuselage and foam core wing that is fully sheeted with balsa and then covered; typical HET construction. The finish on the Fuselage is flawless. We will be equipping ours with a Typhoon 2w-23 with a 5x5 propeller on a 4s 2500mah lipo. Here are a few quick teaser pics. I will start the build on friday afternoon....stay tuned.

Very nice, I have mine also at home now,,, it will be interesting to see how she flyes..

One thing Ive noticed in the manual, the elevons should be 5-6 mm up, isnt that much ?

If you film this one, please include the handthrow, I want to see how it flyes out of the hand... Im having hard time to find a real grip ..

Would a JS 1400 work in this plane? A 5x5 on a Funjet runs about 165 mph. The reason I ask, I have one sitting around doing nothing and I have the go ahead to order the 163 for my birthday!

WHy not, this plane is as strong as the funjet, and I think even faster..

Just go for it..

I would like to start the build off with the installation of the servos. One thing we noticed was the LS-02 rc lander metal geared servos we're using weren't tall enough when layed on there side so we had to add a piece of 1/8 balsa under each servo. This brought the rear end of the servo flush with the bottom of the wing.

Next we can move onto the control rod installation. The control rods consist of a threaded rod that may need to be trimmed depending on your servo orientation. On either side you have clevises. The manual calls for 5mm-6mm of up elevon for the neutral position. From my flying wing experience that's a little on the high side but we will start with 5mm and see how it goes.

Next part of the build consist of the canopy build. Many people find the canopy's on the HET aircraft the hardest part of the build. They are a bit tricky but with some patience you will complete a beautiful canopy.
