1512 1.5D = 1510 1Y ( I mean RPM thing )

The setup I'm flying is about 5,5-6kW.

About the too much prop , this was only for testing. I will push it more further with GM 18x21 and then 18x23.

Please don't advise me - " it's too much for the motor ... " . Once you get with "too much power" without a smoke , then you can always go back.

GM

Georgi, i am not worried about smoke. Not worried you will brake something either. Just telling you what i am expecting to happen with the brake action. Please do let us know how it goes!!!

Infact, a very close friend of mine by mistake flew 6S on a 5S setup. The controller had a logic board modified by me and it lived to fly another day. Power was beyond 8KW and according to him it went fast.

A 1512/1.5D will have better brake action then a 1510/1Y and this will become noticable with the bigger props.

All my set ups which I liked the most show negative results on advanced motor/prop calculator,so there is no such thing as too many cells or to big of a prop,so no safety advise from me Georgi. We would not fly that hot today,if we would follow manufacturers recommendations.I lost a lots of $ doing that, but never go back to 3S,may be with 1506/1D
BTW,You guys talking a lot about brake action gone bad.
I have not had any single issue ever, even with 20x13 on 5.5KW,and truly can't even imagine what is this sound like
I set all my planes with ESC settings from Steve's website, not changing a thing.
Yuri.

Ok then you can try 20+ pitch propellers with 270+ km/h entering speed and get involved in the braking thing. Also doing this in 2 secs.

However , for now the 1510 1Y setup with the Joe/George modified ESC was doing great.
When weather get better I will push it some more.

About the longer vs shorter rotors involved in the brake action , I will discuss this when I have some real life data. For now the "short" version is doing great.

That was easy
With Pils 17.5x17.5, 2 seconds run .....and Georgi's blessing.

Yuri, remind me of the rest of your setup. Might be fun for Speedfire pilots.

I think is this one:

NEU 1415/1.5D 6.7G /2700Kv/
CC ICE 100
Phils 17.5x17.5
Neu 8S 2500mah

Everything is fine except for the ICE100, right Richard?

It is a very long motor indeed.Gearbox+spacer+longmotor.
Battery was Hyperion 35c 2600mha,
rest is correct.
Funny part is,I calculated 1415/1Y would be great efficient motor on 8S and ordered it for absolutely different plane .But when I did a tests ,numbers was WAY away from what I was expecting and motor went to Backfire and I loved it .Yuri.
P.S. Still need 1415/1Y but afraid to order again

But I guess I posted before.
It is 1415/1.5 6.7 gear on 8s Hyperion 2600Mha and CC100.
17.5x17.5 NEU prop set up draws 29Amps more then RFM 17x18+5 set.
Much better performance.
Yuri.
