Thanks! ALBRT. I had a lot of very good directions from this thread.

Ditto that Ken on the battery sitting all the way to the bottom fuse panel.

I have built one from 6mm EPP, and I had a VERY hard time flying it. Curves would usually end in unpredictable behaviour and crashes. I blame the "wrong" motor I used:

Dymond AL-2028
weight : 22g
current: 4-5A
rpm/V : 1400
power : 3S LiPo

Now I'm adding surface to the wings (and rudders), I bet that will help

Probably a CG thing. Move your CG forward and see how it does. I am going to move mine up a bit more too.

It took forever to get some decent weather here in Upstate NY to maiden it and of course I could not do so without coordinating with the planes owner.

Well here is a nice video shot by a friend, Mark with a really nice camera and some nice editing. The video is a bit shaky but primarily because this thing is FAST. I really had to slow it down to be caught on film....And that's the beauty of this size, it's flight envelope is really wide. It's honestly 70-75 mph on the top side and will slow right down to a slow jog for landing. And it's SUPER STABLE, even in slight winds. I say slight only because I built her very light and anything over say 8-10 mph and you feel it. It’ll still fly but it wants to succumb to the prevailing wind direction just a bit at slower speeds.

Well enough talk, check out the video. If anyone was considering building this one at 32" WS, please feel confident that she's a flyer. Had her up at the same time with the "real thing" and it was amazing how comparable they were, in fact I was told this PRIME JET8 was more of true flyer.

what is the auw on her? im thinking of building one ,since i have a grayson motor that i use on a typhoon delta (designed by kronick )

Fun Jet 32" Big Brother

This is my recent build inspired by the video of (cbr600f2)

I have just received the electronics. I believe these are close to what was used in cbr600f2 build.
  • ParkJet Combo 2212-06 V2 Super-sonic brushless
  • APC 6x4 prop
  • 30 amp esc
  • 2200 20C lipo

I purchased these from Grayson Hobby

That's the set up and your build looks fantastic. Good luck with this one. I think you'll really like the wide speed envelope !

Thanks (cbr600f2) & ALBT, I appreciate the compliments.

I went out to the flying field today. No fly today, again.
8 to 10 m.p.h. wind and coming from all directions.
It has rained 24 out of 23 days - and that's alot - it's just a mudd pit.

Not conditions to maiden this baby.

That's why I just build right now.

I can't wait for a few dry days.

You're welcome Sir, good luck on the maiden. I know she will fly flawless and on rails. This bird can actually fly on windy conditions thats why I keep her battle ready during typhoon season.

PJ8 32" Parts Dept

When I started this build I knew this one was a keeper. So knowing my flying skills, I decided to make foam templates for EZ parts replacement or another plane.

I had the plans for the 32" printed at FedEx Kinkos, taped them to $tree foamboard and blue fanfold foam.
I used thermo web peel & stick tape for plans to foam, then cut out parts. EZ to trace around next time I need a part of two, or three or . . .

I think the blue foam will bounce and give better than the $tree foam for the wings.

Thermo web peel & stick is sold at Michaels Crafts around here.

26" ws and 32" Ws tiled plans.

O.k Guys I updated the first post with Tony's 26"ws and 32"ws tiled plans. This should clear things up for members trying to build certain size and want to print at home. There you have it.....now go and cut some foam.

Thanks Scott for the excelent drawings.

Thanks Tony for providing the awesome tiled plans.
