Maiden today, went well. Got a friend to throw it for me and it tracked straight right from the start. All went well until I hit lvc and was too low and being silly. Broke the nose off. Took about 5 minutes to fix, and is ready to go again.

In the air it felt rock solid. Couldn't ask for a nicer flying piece of foam. Thanks for the plans, this one is a keeper. My auw is right on 250 grams, I can see this going very quick with the right power system and some re-inforcing of a few areas

AWESOME! CONGRATS ON YOUR MAIDEN If you want a more rigid structure for speed, lengthen the cf spar on your wing and then spot glue balsa triangle stips along the FUSE. I'm building a slightly bigger span for 3s lipo.

Mayday.

Hey mayday, whats the bigger span you're working on?

I haven't measure it yet but it was 250% from Prime8's original drawings. You can see the size difference on the pic. Im planning to use Grayson V3 motor on this one its going to be fast!

Cool man, I want to see it! It will fly super stable at that wingspan.

Does this mean you used the air hogs switchblade receiver brick in this mini jet?

I took mine apart to salvage the Rx and motors and have been trying to find a use for them. I assumed the Rx/Tx were programmed for a differential thrust setup only.

the original plans i did are for a 10 in WS and jetset guts.
but i have to kee mas to 23g or less .. LOL for good flight .
i will have to convert to use parkzone lipo .. it's smaller and more mah .

but switch blades and be used like this :
my switchblade is in my bronco 2. video of bronco ..
Bronco 2 , night / dusk flight awsome (3 min 4 sec)

...finally got mine done -- took me a little longer than I anticipated! Very happy with how it turned out! Great plans and great design! I made a few simple mods:

- Added f18 style strakes
- Extended control surfaces (closer to fuse)
- Modified vert. fins to allow for control surface extension
- installed servos recessed into lower fuse

I approximated the new CG by chucking the bare airframe at a low altitude onto the ground. The new CG is about 1/4" -1" ahead of the original. After getting her in the air, I will determine the proper CG.

My maiden attempt prior to painting was a failure. Don't know what I was thinking -- haven't launched a pusher in a while (EDF's!) -- I was a bit concerned about tearing up my hand with the prop. I tried an underhand launch . Thrust was there, but not speed -- she torque rolled, stalled, and landed on her top, breaking off rudders and motor mount. Minor damage, but I was not able to do a quick field repair at the time.

Got her back together and decided to paint b/c it became too windy to fly. Hopefully I will be able to re-maiden early one morning. This time I will be sure to give her a good overhand toss!

motor:emax 2805 2800KV
batt: 1000mah 3S 20C lipo
ESC: 30A
prop: APC 5.1x4.5
AUW: 8.8oz (250g)

As far as performance goes, this motor should be more than enough. On a fully charged pack, I was getting 150W @ 14A. I held her above the scale and got 12.5oz. of thrust at max throttle. She will hover at 1/2 throttle. Can't wait to get her in the air!!! Thanks again, guys!
