Motor fo UH Haoye EDF Ducted Fan Unit 7 Blade 3.5inch

Has anyone found a cheapish motor suitable for this UH supplied EDF

The blurb says a 2000kv 39mm motor.

I want to use 2 in a scale seaplane project but dont want to spend a fortune !

I have one data point for that fan in my notes, someone posted these numbers for the Turnigy B36-56-06 1800kv motor on 5S 5000, it pulled 69 amps and 1200 watts at the start, then dropping from there as is usually as the voltage stabilizes for a while. The motor was 63 degrees C.

If building a twin I'd be tempted to go with a lower kv motor and higher cell count so that you can run two 5S packs in series so that both fans are fed by one "pack". That way you don't have to worry about one pack running out first and losing a motor on one side and getting assymetrical thrust. Of course if you ever want to run those motors in a different airplane with a single fan you'll still need a high S count to get usefull power out of them but heck they're so cheap, you could probably just buy new motors.

You'll need high voltage speed controls but from hobbykingthey're so cheap it's not that big of a cost increase.

Go to hobbyking.com and look at motors. I think 2000kv is almost too high, I like keeping my amp draw no higher than 75 amps, a 2000kv motor would be right at that I think on 5S, maybe a bit more, but I don't have a lot of data for that fan. The search function might help find more.

You might be better off using the Wemtoec Midifan. More data out there and it probably pulls 10 amps less for the same thrust, it has less pitch.
