A 5sec pre-flight check can save hours on repairs. I've learned that the hard way.

Here it is it looks way better now rather than flaking paint, with the paint removed the foam has a waxy coating to it but the paint (lacquer) I used did have a reaction with the foam and has given the crocodile skin effect, but I am not going to notice in the sky.

Looks great Shaun! Especially like the stripe down the side of the fuse. Do you use stencils vs tape for the stripes?

Thanks Guy's for your comments, it is ashame about the croc skin, I used cloth tape for all the strips, it does stick well and adds some protection. I really do like this little plane, it flies brilliantly.

Guys I think I asked this before but I am still not 100% positive I understand. Ok a right hand rotation prop is a anti-clockwise prop correct? They are for quads or multiple motor planes right? They could be used on a single motor plane right but the motor would have to turn anti-clockwise right? Also clockwise is the right way to have your single motor plane setup to spin right?
Thanks for your help guys !

Wow Shaun, that looks fantastic!
I just got back from first flight, needs some adjustment on the ailerons and elevator, but fine otherwise.
Only complaint is the prop adapter seems to me not centred and it is hellishly rattly.
Got some work to do there.
What is the prop you are using, an APC by the grey look?
Using 1000mAh 45C NanoTech 3 cells and 35gms in the nose. Heart racing, sweaty palms, wow what a heap of fun!
I look forward to getting this one up in the air a lot.
Lots of fun with the TigerMoth to prepare and then wind down on afterwards.
Its so fast, makes the Hell cat seem slow!

Hey Stephen, thanks for the comments I have also added #22 to under the canopy and some other decals just behind the engine cowl.

The prop is a apc 8x6 slow fly and I am still running it on 2s and it runs rings around the Durafly F4U and it turns inside it A mate and I had to see which is faster yesterday, he thought his DF was but I am glad to say he was WRONG hehe

Shaun.

** If you look at mine and then yours you can see the difference in the control surfaces hmmmm **

Hi Shaun, yes that is interesting how the control surfaces are different.
The ailerons are on the lowest throw on the servo and still damn responsive.
It is a little slow to barrel roll so I might move them out a slot and see.
Trying to balance 3 blade prop while waiting for 2 bladers to turn up.
I ran a 8*6 on the plane last night and just after a few seconds I could smell very hot speed controller!
3 cell 1000 with 20 amp ESC, so must off been drawing at least 20A!
Didnt shutdown so cant of been at the limit right? Ha!
That is assuming that the FETs do actually shutdown when overheated!
Might just have to keep at 3/4 power, but that is still way fast enough with this little beasty!

Replaced the stock 20a with a 30a esc, 3s 30 or 40c and 1000mah with a shortened 800mm spitfire prop. Stays cool, runs good.

Hi all , I flew the orig and then the 8*6 this morning.
I am amazed just how much better it is with the bigger prop.
Never had to go over 3/4 power and even just a trickle was enough.
I like it more and more!
What have you cut yours down to Comanch? 7"?
That would make it rotate at higher rpm, works ok?
Cheers all.
Stephen

Mini V2 Corsair is coming!!

This is from the FMS Facebook page! I especially like the reference to a new 1400mm version is coming soon!

https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?...6557695&type=1

10. Better manual with lots of details for easy assembling.
11. Better Performance, no CG issue, easy to control.

Our new V2 mini wabirds have many NEW scale features including a beautify 4 blade propeller and scale hub, scale Fuel tank and missiles, scale removable landing gear, new details decal, new pilot. The aircraft features a brushless motor, 20Amp ESC and 4 ready installed servos. Assembly takes minutes following the simple photo step by step assembly guide. The EPO construction gives a light yet resilient airframe that will take much punishment and just bounce right back into the air! Compact, adrenaline fuelled, big packet of fun still doesn’t do verbal justice to this airframe, we love it! With all this modifications, it looks as a 1400mm wabirds, flies as a trainer plane! Dog fights really become genuine fun with this range of aircraft so what are you waiting for!!

The v2 is already out at nitroplanes.com I like the gray one and the 4 blade scale prop. Though they have it with a 1300kv motor.

That model is not made by FMS! It's made by A-RC. Which is a new vendor that Nitroplanes has contracted with to make their Airfield product line. The models look very similar. The specs are very different. The FMS plane uses a hotter motor at 1700kv. And runs a 2s vs a 1300kv 3s setup for the A-RC.
