Vector-thrust pusher with 3-axis gyo, anyone ever build?
I was thinking a cool idea for a plane would be--
- delta wing jet-ish overall design but with large enough surface areas to not be killer fast.
- Some sort of pusher prop configuration, prop behind mid to somewhere near aft but ahead of control surfaces.
- Elevons and rudder control surfaces in prop wash to provide vectored thrusts.
- Three axis gyros to stabilize yaw, pitch and roll.
I just think it would be really cool fly 3D with a pusher. If the gyro feedback was right, I'm wondering if you could actually get the thing to stand on top of the prop instead of hang from it. With airplane gryos only being ~$20/each, would only be $60 more than building a regular pusher delta.
Anyone ever done it?
