80" fournier rf-4d motor glider

hey all

this morning i had a nice big box turn up on the doorstep and of the best kind-filled with aircraft lol
Plan is to power her with a asp .25 turning a 10/4 zinger not sure on servo's and batterys as of yet

For now i'll let the pictures do the talking any questions or sugestions welcome

instructions basic but ok

wing underside

tail feathers

main gear and out-riggers

suplied aileron control rods and horns (horrid soft brass)

firewall and bolts

wore ikky brass horns

bendy wing joiner that will be replaced with solid ply

binned

so on moving the ruder the hinges puled out gunna have to work on replacing the lot

over all it looks ok feels very solid and very light, the cowl on the other hand is rubish ill fitting and made from thin plastic also will probably melt if put near the engine any 1 know where i could find a good cowl making 1 may not realy be an option, the covering is actualy not that bad nice and tight but the red is printed on the covering and looks horid close up i way rip it off and use ultracote or solartex and fuel proof it im going to fuel proof the inside incase of acidents hopefully going to get this bird under 2kg auw

skylark

Hi,
see to all parts but in the end it will fly great!!!
You could build in a scale landing gear too.
See for aironaut site. I think it would be as big as yours.
see the pictures I took some time ago and it could be servo opperated as well.
The two wheels under the wings don't need more wire then those in the box.
Good luck ,

You may find this forum useful for some of the problems encountered with this kit - nothing really bad but some good points to look for

Am trying to locate the landing gear for this plane in the US. I have built the 1/4 scale Mick Reeves Fornier, and wondering if it would fit. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

RF4 landing gear

Hi Randy,
This is a Aeronaut kit.
http://www.aero-naut.de/produkte/flu...ier-rf-4d.html
Could not find anything on the retractable gear though.
You can email them and see what happens.
I do have a drawing of a French RF4 1/4 scaled and there is a drawing in. I can try to copy all in PDF if you still need it PM me then.
I whish you good luck,
