Yahoo, my order arrived from H.K. :-)
But my wife wouldn't let me open it (xmas present) :-(
But I got her to get out the esc and spinner for the Fox.
She's all ready to go except additional wing braceing and I could fly without (going easy).
I put on an 11x8 prop= peak 44 amps and near 400 watts constant, won't do vert. but should be sufficient.

I'm using an 11-8 Graupner folder myself with the E-flite power 15 motor. Climb isn't vertical either, but very spirited.

Looks like they take the reviews we write on the models seriously on their web page? Good on them. That's smart business. This should make the Fox a great plane right out of the box.

I was able to sneak in a couple of flights today! Our flying field is situated on the top of a hill that gets a lot of wind. This is usually a negative, but with the 15" snowstorm we had last week the strong winds kept the field virtually clear of the snow! Today temps were in the high 40'sF and the wind was 5mph or less with the sun blazing. The first flight I stayed up for about 1/2 hour. That's easy to do with this motorglider. I did some hammerheads, loops, and quick rolls all with no power besides gravity. She rolls really well for such a large wingspan. The landings were great as I touched down on the wet grass and rolled through some 2" deep snow patches before coming to a stop. It really looks like the real deal when coming in. The only issue is that if my big busted blonde pilot doesn't give up the cigarettes, she'll kill herself before an unfortunate accident can.. She's always got one in her mouth.. LOL

We didn't get the sun, but mid 40's and low wind. I got out for the first time in a month, but only a quick flight at the local school yard with the new "Quicksilver". One maiden out of the way. Nose heavy (0 instructions) every bit of trim and sub trim and I still had to hold "back" stick.
Still got the "Fox" and an "Easy Star" to maiden. :-)
Can't wait to get this puppy up.

Nice report Robbie, yur teasin me.

HAPPY NEW YEAR FRIENDS

Happy New Year to you and yours and all as well!

It looks like today is going to be a repeat of yesterday!

I think I'll give the Fox a rest and take the Blade 400 3D heli out for a *spin*. Even though I live basically in the woods, we actually have a large dome in town with 2 regulation size soccer fields inside and a high roof. The owners have decided that during off time they'd allow us to fly electric aircraft there for a mere $10.00 per hour. How cool! Definitely good heli flying environment but I think I'll leave the Fox and other motorgliders home..

Nothing but rain and wind here :-(
My club is stuck in a small public school gym and many (like me) can't go as they have too many already.
Have a good flight today buddy.

OK It"s bin a while, I got the nose finished. I had a 1/4" gap behind the spinner, good for cooling but looked bad. I found that an empty toilet roll tube was a perfect fit inside the nose cone, put in about 1" of the tube, bolted the spinner back on. Then slide the tube in behind the spinner and CA'ed it in place. I glued a strip of EPO around the tube then trimmed/sanded to shape. A quick shot of white paint to blend it in and that's it.

I also got the wing rod reinforced, I found C/F tube to fit.
She's as ready as she gets. :-)
Knee deep in snow :-(

I have a question about the motor mount i took the motor of to put it together with M3 screws because the stock screws are so tiny. Now i don't remember if it's normal that the motor is out of the center on the motor mount...

So is it normal that the motor is out of the center?

Mex: I did not notice this as I replaced the stock mount and motor, but it looks normal. The motor when installed should be pointing slightly down and right. It looks like thats what you will have so it should be good.
