Aiptek Mini camera with electronic switch

This canera is all modified with an electronic switch to take pictures. No batteries are needed as it uses power from the receiver. I have the orignal software and the connection cable.
Only weighs about 1.5 ounces.

SOLD

Cue

Does by-passing the external manual switch eliminate the problem of the camera automatically shutting down after so many seconds, 15 I think. My buddy has one with an external servo to trip the shutter and he has to start shooting pictures almost as soon as he launches or the camera will automatically shut it's self off. Was wondering if tripping the shutter electronically eliminated that problem. Tom

Yes, it eliminates the problem of the camera turning itself off, you dont have to keep taking pictures to keep it on.

This is a good thing. Bill has more pictures of our field close up than the CIA has. Could you post a few pictures you have taken with it. All of Bills are fuzzy because he is going nuts trying to fly his Beaver and at the same time hit the shutter release before the camera shuts off. Not a good thing. He counts to ten then takes a shot and then counts to ten again and so on and so on. Usually looses count and off it goes. One out of 20 comes close to what he was aiming for. Your setup sounds much better. Tom

Cue, they are much clearer than Bills. Thanks ! Who has been doing burnouts on your runway. Looks to be ATVs. We had that problem until a few months ago when we went to the property owners we rent from and told them what was going on. They said to post the place and call the cops. We did, and the last guy caught on there, and there have been many, had to pay $1000 to get his machine out of Police Impound.
We got tired of screwing around with these jerks. They have the whole world to tear up and they have to center their activities on our grass runway. At least they can't do too much harm to the asphalt on yours.
Let me ponder this camera thingy. My fear was as you stated. Got bored with it after a few times out. How many shots of the same field does one need. I will get back to you on it. Thanks, Tom

They looked kind of narrow for a car, but from altitude, I guess I lost perspective. We solved that problem 20 years ago. We rented a backhoe and dug a 2' wide, 4' deep trench all around our field. Took us all day and half of the night, but it stopped that nonsense. Then is was broken beer bottles all over the place for several years until the little b- - - - - - s out grew the drinding thing, or were all killed in driving accidents. Don't know which, and don't much care. Then they invented ATVs, and the curse has continued until now. Word spreads fast though, and we hardly ever see them now because $1,000 is a pretty steep price for trespassing and vandalism. Their parents must be ready to kill them, but a lot of them are in their 20s and 30s. Nothing against the machines, I raced bikes for over 20 years, but not on peoples lawns, and I still ride a Harley. Enough of that.
Would you consider a trade. Not sure what you fly, but I have a 12 cell pack of SR 1300Max cells that I will never use. Paid over $100 from Larry a year ago. I cycle them every couple of months, but they have never been flown. They are side by side flat and have an Astro connector on them with 13g wire. I would swap them even for the camera and software.
