Ok, I have nearly completed all the mechanical and gyro setup on the Skookum 720 unit. I still need to button up all the electronics, wiring, and rx batt. After that I think it's ready to maiden.

Ok, I'm ready for the maiden flybarless flight. Nearly all my questions have been answered, I do want to hook it up one more time to the PC just to be on the safe side.

So I tried a roll again today. The roll itself appeared to go ok, but coming out of the roll the heli required 9 clicks of down elevator to trim it out. Flew ok once I put in the trim, but I'm going to be checking the entire head tomorrow. I'd swear the link length changed during that manuever, can't think of anything else that might have changed.

That is odd, to change trim that drastically. I wonder if something in the head slipped?

Not sure if I told you or not, but I figured out why my aileron rolls didn't work so well on the Raptor. My linkages for aileron were on the innermost hole of the servo arm, thus not giving me full deflection. I moved them further out last week and it looked better, but I still may need to go one hole further out.

What does the manual say about servo arm lengths?

Looks like the ball links should be at 10.5mm from the center of the servo for beginner setup. The range is from 10mm - 12mm. I'll have to measure it.

It appears that I'm talking to myself in here...

Last Friday while attempting to help minimize vibration getting to the flybarless unit on the Swift, I added a zip tie that pulled out a servo lead

This resulted in one spectacular crash. No video, sorry guys.

It was a spectacular crash. Good thing all those pieces flew away from us and not at us.

Wow. That looks almost as bad as the crash when my T-Rex 500 had the anti-rotation pin on the swashplate back out in flight and pushed itself into the ground at maximum negative collective from about 30 feet before I figured out something was wrong.

Sad to see the crash! I'm having trouble justifying my heli habit in terms of my yearly RC budget of only $1200...

Man! I'm amazed! Fuel alone would eat up that budget. Add batteries and it's gone!

Jon, I did get the "thingy". Is there a way to order one more? On the larger heli's I prefer to have the multiple receivers oriented at 90 degrees.
