Well... No Velo 50 N2 for Saturday. Perhaps I'll have it ready by Sunday. Still have to rig up the fuel lines, install the exhaust pipe and clean up the electronics up front. I've also got to figure out the Futaba GY701. The governor on that thing is not cooperating. It's probably going to take a while to figure it out, so my first flights I'll just connect the throttle servo up directly to the receiver. Here are some pics of the progress.
Here is the left side of the frames without any servos installed. First, I installed the throttle servo. Next, the aileron servo. Here is the right side of the frames without any servos installed. I started on this side with the rudder servo. Next, I installed the pitch servo. This was a mistake which made routing the servo wire up to the front harder. I should have installed the elevator servo before the pitch. The final servo installed was the elevator servo. I installed the aileron servo wheel. Then I installed the elevator and pitch servo wheels. The rudder servo is connect to the pitch slider thru an arm on the rear of the frames. Here is it's mount. The rudder arm with balls installed. The rudder arm installed on its mount. I was going to use Quick UK links on the links below the swash. However, I couldn't get them started, so I went back to Outrage links. Links installed on the left side of the frames. Links installed on the right side of the frames. However, tonight I must work on the Fusion 50. All the necessary parts came in today and there's quite a bit of work to get it running again. You can easily see what caused the crash. The ESC wire came out of its connector. It did it right in the middle of a forward flip. I managed to get it back upright, but the HS was low at that point and there wasn't enough height to get a good auto in before it hit. Fortunately, it landed on the skids, so there wasn't too much damage.
