Yupp - will have two 55mm EDFs; already asked the moderator to move the thread to EDF-Fomies - been building pushers for so long that I forgot that there are others too

BUT: the end of the tail has a circular cross-section with a diameter of 40mm - almost perfect for a pusher!

...guess now you know what Im building.

Already got the first problem: how to install the EDFs removable and without a step in the duct?

so if edf fails because of weigh problems you still have the pusher option.........

Finally after comming back from italy I had a few hours to proceed:

-carfed and sanded the right nacelle parts and testfitted the EDF - looks promissing!

Surprisingly the choosen method turned out to be ideal: after 10min. of carving out the raw curvature I needed only another 10min. to sand the inlet and nozzle with a 30mm tube and 30grain, finaly with 80 grain abresive paper. The result is so smooth - I'm not sure wether I shall use plastic sheet or not

(cant belive that the project was on hold for about 2 years because I had doubt wether I can make nacelles without hot wire )

EDFs will be glued into the fuselage-side part of the nacelle - the rear-outward part (40mm wide, 150mm long EPP nozzle) will be only spot-glued in place for maintenance

...glued the fuselage parts together yesterday and made slots into the fuselage sides for the engine-bulkhead. Today I will carve the forward fuselage and the left nacelle...

....had to give back my borrowed camera - so no pics at the moment

If those are the 53mm 5000 kv from hk, I hope you are using a 60 amp esc. They pull 50 plus amps. Make sure your your lipo is atleast a 30c rating.

You know there is a scratchbuild edf forum now. You could of started a build log there.

subcribed too.
