I've seen wing fold up on large foamies before.
There's an alloy square from the root going almost all the way out to the tip. An 80 cm alloy tube joins the wing halves (see pics.) In addition u have the wing supports to the fuse. So i think the wing can take some G's. It's not a 3D machine anyway

The battery hatch is located behind the nose wheel. See pics in post #19

Got stuck with a minor problem when i was going to install the motor. The pre drilled holes in the motor wall didn't match the motor bracket. The holes were overlapping a bit. So i made 2 pieces of ply. One in front of the wall and one on the back. That way i got some fresh holes on both sides. The extra piece of ply in front also gave me the perfect gap between cowling and spinner.

Also got one of the wing halves finished. Control horn and servo horn didn't line up very well. Just bent the push rod, they are quite stiff, so i think it will be ok.

Would you have been able to simply flip the "E/Z connector," on the servo arm, to the other side? Will it hit the servo case?

Otherwise, it's looking good. I can't wait to see it in the air.

I was thinking about flipping the connector too, but i didn't find out before the servos were glued. Don't think the connector will hit the case.. Depends on the throws... Also used threadlock on the connectors, so it'll be tricky to fix with the servo glued...

That looks like a great flying airplane.
When it slows down, it looks more scale.

I'm surprised there isn't more of a buzz on this plane. It's seems like a great plane for slo flying and being a trainer. This is gonna be my girls secong plane. She like how my 27 percent extra looks in the air but like slow flying like her current trainer foamy.

If the sound was dubbed, I wonder if the speed was slowed down to make it look like a floater?

1,9m span + 2,5kg = it has to be a floater

The plane is almost ready for maiden. Have a few more decals to put on... I'm at work now, but will post pics tonight. The building of this plane has been very much straight forward... With a few exceptions. Some minor issues, and one f...ing pain in the ass issue. Mounting the wing to the fuse is everything but easy. (not sure how to explain in english, but i'll try ) 4 bolts are used to attach the wing to the fuselage. These bolts have to enter the nuts which are hammered into a piece of ply. This ply is glued to the sealing inside the cockpit. If u push too hard when trying to get the bolt to enter the nut, the nut will fall out of the ply and down on the cockpit floor. Then u have to cut open the cockpit roof to get to the nut. I'll post some pics tonight, and u'll see what i mean...

If you can get access to the blind nuts expoy them to the piece of ply. That should take care of the problem. Can't wait to see more pictures of your build.

I had to glue one of the nuts. Seems to work out fine for now. But if this problem goes on, i'm planning to replace the bolts and nuts with bigger ones. Will be easier to enter the nuts and it will be stronger. I don't want to struggle with this problem out on the field every time.

New (second) Source

Before anyone decides to order from Norway, check this place out and compare. It sounds like it comes with floats and landing gears. I believe it's the same plane and the color I prefer.
