Thanks Fritz and Prime_8. I sure do wish the wind would quit blowing.

A combination of decent flying weather and availability of someone to take video has given me an opportunity to post a video of the Comet Stinson SR-7 flying. This was taken late in the day when the wind died down to an acceptable level so lighting is not as good as video taken in bright sun light.

I want to thank my brother Ralph for running the camera.

Comet Stinson SR-7 RC.wmv (3 min 16 sec)

I certainly appreciate the positive comments about the model. It has been a fun project and hopefully the model will be able to provide many satisfying flights well into the future.

Excellent! And it flies as good as it looks!
It looks to fly nearly the same as my enlarged version with plenty of rudder authority.
The equipment tray/magnetic pushrod attachments are brilliant!

Thanks ckreef and Glenn. I appreciate your kind comments.

zzcutter - The process I use to print on tissue is covered on my web site. Go to http://www.parmodels.com and then to the Techniques and References section. You will find my approach described.

I drew the graphics using CorelDraw based on several photos I found on the Internet. The main photo I used is of the actual aircraft that carries license number NC15173. A number of photos of another Stinson Reliant with a very similar color scheme were also used to help clarify anything that was not clear in the main photo.

way cool video Paul!
how does your tray stay in the fuselage, is there another set of magnets in the nose and on the dummy engine?

yeha , i'm interreste din the 'guts' tray as well.
i figure something must hold it so push rods can push against something.
just very cool to see it .
- good for builders like me who can't be happy with just one , but not enough $ to put a brick dedicated to each LOL

derk - A pair of magnets are used to retain the equipment tray. One is mounted at the top of the radial engine disk, and the companion in the front cowl former. Those magnets are 1/4" in diameter and 1/16" thick. They have way more than enough holding force to keep everything in place when the motor is running. Take a look at the photos included with post #20. One shows the tray part of the way out of the nose when the model was still in the bones stage. You can see the magnets that are mounted in the engine disk and the front of the cowl.

Small rare earth magnets are a micro modeler's best friend.
