It's getting there!
I borrowed a camera to show you guys what my hawk is looking like lately.
Iv'e nearly done the wing, but AFTER i fitted one servo i noticed it dosen't center properly .
It's a hs-80 that ive had for a while but hasn't been crash damaged at all. Is this common? The other one is fine.
The problem with high quality cameras is it shows up all the defects! My web cam dosen't show any of those!
Anyhow, what do you guys think? It is my first totally scratch built so be kind
Here is a side view

here's my son who's obviously bored as a bored thing with me hassling him to hold the wing!
"when is it going to be finished dad?"
I stuffed up the strapping tape but you live you learn.
One thing though it's very stiff though

Anyone have a better method of hinging?
The one iv'e used is very strong, I just don't want to look at them. I could put a strip of colour over the tape but then i'll have an edge of tape.
Another thing i like about these hinges is they have no drag
when moving up and down.
The color scheme will be the swiss airforce one.

I think it's looking sweet! Keep up the good work! I think it's going to be a real nice airplane. What's the airfoil again? RG-15? I bet it'll be something of a ripper

thanks guys, it is an rg-14 which TFLG suggested for some speed.
I had all these thoughts of flaps, rudders etc but i'm pretty impatient so iv'e pulled the pin on most of the fancy stuff.
I was going to take a mould of the fuse but i figured i won't want 20 of these things, so i'm going to strap the foam up.
I may glass it and melt out the foam. See how i go.
If....WHEN the fuse dies, i might even use the wing as a "wing"
Put a pod on it like the moth to balance it.
I haven't even finished it and i'm already talking about it's demise!!

Now that's a hawk!! Man,that's a nice size plane.
I don't mind that scheme at all, but i've got some swiss blood in me so i'll go for that.
I'm thinking about leaving off the stabs altogether, it would be easier! sort of a flying wing with fuse. But then it wouldn't be a hawk.
Speaking of colours, The first sloper i built was a coro wing
that i covered in red, black and yellow tape.
I was flying at a hill and this big angry looking guy comes up and says to me (in a german accent) are you german?
I didn't even realise the coulours added up to anything until he told me that the layout was the german flag (don't know about the east/west thing though) he was fine with it but he walked
from the other side of the flying site to enquire.
I told him my grandparents were swiss which is near
Germany We ended up talking for about half an hour, top bloke.
