On a different note it might be worth trying to find a parallel charging cable or board for these batteries, then you can charge a few of them at once.
yeah i know not to take them for granted. im not sure if i can find a parallel charging cable that uses a XH style cable.

Yep. Either/or. If you are willing to do a bit of soldering or wiring you could make a monster parallel cable, but 2 or 3 should be more than enough for most days, especially if you get batteries chargable at 5c.

okay thanks. i also saw this cable where it looks like it has two connections for 1s lipos. would it make a difference if i used a true 2s lipo over 2 1s lipos?http://www.horizonhobby.com/products...beast-EFLU4068

Here's what to use. Lower resistance. Smaller. Lighter.

depends what kind of single cell lipo you have.
http://www.horizonhobby.com/products...wg-EFLB1802S20

Thats a 2 cell 180mah 20c. If i get 2 of these (http://www.horizonhobby.com/products...-THP1601SL25UM) and put them on that cable it will be like a 2s 160mah 25C lipo. If you had 2 of these (http://www.horizonhobby.com/products...-THP2401SL25UM) It would be a 2s 240mah 25C lipo. But then if you add 2 of the 240's then you have to think about the extra weight and make sure your cg is still gonna be good.
Someone correct me if im wrong about the c rating still being 25C when they are on a y-harness

Now when i get my umx beast 3d (or if i do) i would put 2 1s 160mah 25c thunder power lipo's on it because it is 20 less mah than the 180mah but its 5C more. Plus i already have 2 160mah thunder power's.

Also im sure some people use 2 190mah mini aviations

okay cool thanks. yeah i am thinking about it. right now i may just get a 2s lipo, but i have so many 1s lipos that it may just be better to go with that route....of course i need to make sure that it will work in the other UMX planes.

It is indeed a sweet piece of gear. Here I am doing four Miniaviation 210s at a time, with room left for two more!

I think I showed the first ever UMX parallel adapter here:

Now, I use PCBs.... Assembly is much faster. You can usually get them made in speciality places, but if you check with colleges and universities, you may get lucky and have them made for VERY cheap. I find it's much better overall.

Since there's two ports on my recently aquired CellPro charger, I can now charge 16 batteries at once!

Beat ya!

El,

In this app, the HH series harness is approximately 10% down on thrust as compared to a 2s pack. Glenn's (RC Connectors) harness is only down 2%. The HH harness weighs 1.2g, while Glenn's weighs 0.56g.

A lightweight, high-quality 2s pack will provide the best performance, but Glenn's harness is very close in terms of thrust. The noticeable performance hit when running a pair of 1s cells on Glenn's harness is the extra weight. Aside from the harness itself, consider the additional connectors, wire, and shrink-wrap.

That said - Hyperions are the only single cells that are really worth using on the harness.
