There's the background to this poll.

Kirby Kite heading the races as we come into the first fence..followed closely by Reiher..with the rest of the field bunched together in two packs and Slingsby bringing up the rear..
(Apologies for double entering the Weihe. It is of course a typo, the Reiher is first, and the Weihe below it)

I should be running a book as well

You know, I wonder why I haven't done this before. When faced with 'what model to design this fall' why not just ASK. Radical.

(rocketman47: Largely because it was felt to be a compromise between performance, cost, and practicality, that was about optimal)

I suppose it's too much to ask for a thumbnail pic of each?

Who? Me? Well, I suppose if I've got to keep myself occupied until the middle of November... I'll look into it tomorrow but there are pictures of more than half of those listed (and all the current top six or seven) here

There are some excellent and up to date photographs of many/most of the sailplanes in the list here:

http://www.flickr.com/photos/tibenham/

For example I particularly like this Kirby Kite in its military livery

http://www.flickr.com/photos/tibenham/4862749471/

and on the ground

The resource is potentially a good reference for a colour scheme when the final choice is made. Where else are you going to find over 300 modern, quality photos of classic sailplanes in a single website?

As another example, because the pic I posted above of the Standard Austria is c*ap, try this:

And more photos still:

I am surprised at the number of Blanik votes.
I think maybe that more guys have gotten to fly them as they are two place
birds. I've flown several of them, which is the reason for my Blanik vote
as well as the ASK-13.

The full size L-13s will be disappearing quickly from now as there are a bunch of ADs and restrictions just hit for them. All are now non aerobatic, with quite a few grounded forever i would think as it is a re occurring spar boom corrosion problem. I have only one to inspect but its not hopeful!
